Alex to the rescue again! Had similar issue the other day, thought I remembered a video on here about it. Found the glow plug relay box, jiggled the connections and all good again! Some contact cleaner and a squeeze of the connection crimps should see it good. You're a saviour and font of knowledge Alex, keep up the videos (and please don't change your motorhome 😁)

Thanks for making these videos, many's the time i've checked up what you have been up to. Always good to see how you have handled the various jobs. Seems the age of our vans develop the same faults. "Belle" 1991 Compass Drifter, Peugeot J5 2.5D.

Yes, I think they sell a lot of them as I've seen a lot of FB posts with folk having similar issues. Always good to get a relatively easy fix though!

Glad you got van fixed. Looking fwd to your trip away vids. I've just done a video which may be of interest. Basically the lower the Temp the more Humidity. So just looking at Humidity meters can be misleading. Ps Heater plug relays looks repairable. Dont throw it away. Maybe I want to fiddle wif it one day. Cheers from old George

@@ttxela i have been using Motorhome covers for around 15 years & never had a problem with ventilation. Not sure where you got that from Alex but its a pure myth. Admittedly the Van is parked on the drive & i do check everything out from time to time. Why would you have a problem with ventilation when the covers are breathable?…..Jim🍺

@@grumbleweed5570 I wondered if it might be a myth. It's something people always say whenever it comes up on FB groups. Sounds like you have no issue with yours though. I must admit the only time I've used one was when I had an old Triumph Dolomite stored outside many many years ago and bought a cover for it. I had no issues with that for sure. :)

ttxela. I can only speak from my personal experience Alex. The cover I use is made by Kampa and we find it excellent. Keeps it very dry & clean for the Winter. I was late putting it on last year and regretted it with all the Autumn rain we had. So this year I didn't hesitate.....Jim🍺

Hello Eamon, that's the immobiliser. Our insurer insisted on a Thatcham immobiliser to cover the van so I had to get one fitted. There is a video about it on the channel somewhere. If your van has one and you don't need to use it to start the van it must have been disabled?

Hi Love you'r video's and you'r don't give up attitude.Just asking do you have a manual as you seem to know a lot about the repairs you take on and if you do could you tell me where you bought it.I have a 1992 Citroen C25 2.5 cc none turbo diesel motorhome and i want to replace timing belt.I would like to know the timing marks/peg holes set up thanks for any help John.

Hello John, glad you like the videos. There's no Haynes manual for these vans surprisingly. There is a Russet manual but it's long out of print, you can find pdf versions for sale online on memory sticks. Your best source of info is probably the Talbot Owners Club. There's a website Forum (TALBOTOC). I think you have to make a small donation to view the technical area. Timing belt is not a job I've done so far on ours but it's coming due so may be tackled soon 🙂

i Roy i have a talbot talisman 1987 2.5cc diesel none turbo only some time i turn off the engine on the key and engine runs on i have to stall the enine a have fitted a fuel cut valve and fitted a new ignition switch still the same have you any idea ROY THANKS

I've not had this problem myself but I have heard of others having it. Do you mean you have changed the fuel cut-off solenoid and it still runs on?

Hi wonder if u can help in anyway 🤔 2.5 td fiat ducsto .my relay it has been by past onto a 25amp fuse on a switch...there's 2 wires already attached and square plug .connector ..my type is a wire coming from fuel pump .do u know where this wore goes .connects top. The way it should be .originally .thankyou for any help

Hmm, I have heard of a few folk bypassing the relay if they have issues, sounds like a previous owner has done that. Not sure what's gone on with yours but I believe the fuel cut off solenoid should work from position 1 on the ignition. So the glow plug light doesn't come on and the battery drains quickly whilst starting? Is all good when you hold the relay points closed?

No the battery drains just been stood luckily i had a battery charger in the van was on the csmp site was turning over but not starting 30 minutes on a 12amp charger it fired up straight away so definitely a drain somewhere i wouldn't care it only started doing this after getting an mot
