I know this video is kind of Boring but at the same time I wanted to show someone who needs to replace their Mechatronic how to do it. Not hard to do took me about 5 to 6 hours. with video.

You should have took the the lower gearbox dog bone mount bolts off and roated the engine backwards for more working room up front it's does a lot of wonders that extra 15 20cm of working room is crucial being a mechanic lol

I've seen it removed by unbolting the dogbone and jacking the trans back until it hits a subframe bolt. Giving it an angle downwards.

Did you need the vw assembly lever -t10407- or is there a way to improvise without buying it? also were you able to re-use the gasket on the pump cover on the side?

yea the pan gaskets all can be reused. they are rubber. no special tools just some torx sockets. Part was super expensive. try FCP Euro. I think that is where I got it. they sell dealer parts at a huge discount. Does take a while though.

When the trans cooler goes out does the metchtronics have to be replaced. I replaced the fluid and it's still slipping. Pulling the trans to replace clutch pack and flywheel. Any suggestions, need as much help as I can get

Not really, unless you're clutches are bad dsg clutches are typically good for a long long time if box maintained well and not overheated every other day from a beating

Thanks for sharing. At the end of the video was that head shaft or hex shaft you mentioned? I never heard of a hex shaft except on diesel oil pump shafts.

with a ross tech, You can do just about anything by yourself. I did all the work and it is my daily driver now. runs great.

I have a 2012 VW CC 304,000 miles 6 speed dsg. My question is about a G182 code for a transmission input speed sensor? Could this just be the sensor has gone bad or something major. I was just wondering what your thoughts are or maybe find one out there in the community. Ty

let me see I think the speed sensor is on the end of the mechatronic. unit. If I recall right. Check TDI club those guys are BRILLIANT....they have helped me many times. May require Mechatronic replacement Check price at ECS tuning. They come plug and play.....OR if your really savy you can reprogram one....I would not even do that though

ECS Tuning sells dealer parts. no coding but you need to do the transmission adapting. You will need a ross tech. Look up ross tech transmission adaption procedure. pretty self explanatory.

What are the basic settings for relearning the clutches? I recently had to remove my mechatronics and I believe it needs to be recoded! I cannot find anything online for this car!! Please help, Mike!

need a ross tech or vag com. you will do like 3 basic settings. the instructions are on ross tech webstie. The mechatronic needs to be the correct one for the car too. If it si not the correct mechatronic unit it can be programed by a software genious. they use some program to flash it and put the right version in the unit. you need to look at the ross tech to see what the software version was before you put the new one it. If it is the right one. then basic settings with ross tech and it will learn how to shift again.

Ones here have the CBEA engine I am going to pull the pan just in case. CBEA is suppose to have the hex....Cant find any information that they stopped using it on later models. or anything. As far as I can tell ALL Cbea engines have the hex shaft. been all over the TDI club and asked several guys on there. I dont know if the ones in the UK have CBEA engines. CBEA has same oil pan as CJAA but allows less oil to fill it.... So that should be conclusive that they have the BSM.

Im looking at the parts fiche right now and they must have redesigned the CBEA. according to my vin number they have a different oil pump HMMM. I will be looking into this more. good to know. Will be nice not to have to do that big job. My jetta 2009 had one. You may be right. thanks for the comment.....More looking the illustrations are not what the part looks like... CBEA has balance shaft and Hex.....

Pulled the diagram from the Audi website.....03G115105H part number from Audi....Picture does not match the pump style on their Parts fiche. Looked at the picture on the web of the part number and it looks like a balance shaft pump to me. Confirmed it has balance shaft module. and pump listed. Pictures show windage tray but number on parts fiche shows BSM....Definitely needs update ALL CBEA...... Except I dont know if the shaft size is still 70mm some point they used 100mm... Maybe different model or engine number. Usually VW changes engine number when they make any changes. But IDK....

Been doing lots of looking Check the engine numbers of the UK cars. they did make balance shafts in lots of them with the hex shaft issue. Honestly a terrible design and problem.

I been working on these cars for so long now, I just don't see what the hassle is with dropping the subframe for tranny (🫢) R&I. Literally it takes 22 minutes (I've timed myself) to drop the subframe and then the tranny plops right out. It takes much longer than that to finagle the tranny in and out with the subframe in place. Plus on some models, the subframe makes getting to the axle triple squares on the driver side a bit of a hassle, and I have seen instances where someone previously cross threaded those bolts in. Which then requires me to drop the subframe anyway, to properly tap and clean the threads. I just drop the subframe. Yeah fine you need to replace the bolts, and the mesh spacers, but it's also an excellent opportunity to replace the puck mount while you are in there. Really changes the way the vehicle drives and feels when that thing is new. So the customer will appreciate it all in the long run.
