Replacing the Treadmaster on "Seal"

I was asked recently how we had stuck the Treadmaster to the bare aluminium deck and realised I had some video from 2010 so here is a short description of how we went about it. There was a lot of trial and error but the final system worked well and I was able to put down several pieces in a day at the end. Good tools, good weather and good knees required!

Interresting project. I'm about to undertake the same myself on my Ovni 435. I wonder if you could let me know which type of contack glue you actually used. :)

I used 3M 20272 from Jamestown Distrubutor. It's a 2 part. I ran out and as we were in Uruguay I bought Novapren a local one part one and there seems to be no difference after almost 10 years. Roughly half a quart per sheet.

@@hamishlaird3021 Thanks a lot for the answer. One more litle thing. Did you put it straight onto the alu or did you put a coat of primer to the alu first?

@@toreutheim697 straight on, as fast as possible after sanding/vacuuming in order to stop the oxidisation of the metal which happens very quickly (20 minutes?) so you need to move fast, particularly on a hot day
