I love having an Outdoor Hot Water Bib outside here in New England. I installed my Arrowhead Brass Bib about 17 years ago and it's one of the best things I've done. I put it in specifically to wash cars outside year round but over the years we use it for so much else. We wash the dog with it, we fill the kiddie Pool with warm water for the Daycare kids, and the year we were redoing our Bathroom and it wasn't ready on time we took Outdoor showers with it. The look on peoples faces going by my driveway at 6AM in mid-October was priceless. My Comet Static 1700 Pressure Washer can handle inlet water temp up to 145 degrees so that also gets used year round as well. I'd say if you're on the fence about it just pull the trigger, you'll be more than happy you did.

plumber here, i just installed a hot/cold hose bibb today...it was kinda a nightmare; your brand seems pretty good, only downside is the hole is so big, its tough to make such a big hole in brick or concrete.

exactly what I was thinking when I saw that monster hole that has to go into the side of your house, that plus look at the size of thing hanging on the house...pass

Checked the aquor website. I'm hoping they come up with a hose adapter that isn't plastic.
@benberding9 ай бұрын
Same! This is honestly what keeps me from buying the product. This hot and cold version is so slick, but that plastic connector just feels so cheap.
@Pr0toPoTaT09 ай бұрын
They use plastic because of the freezing possibilities I assume. Longevity. A metal piece wouldn't slide in as easy. Why so held up on the plastic? What substance would be better for this application one engineer asks the obvious other engineer?
@CJ301239 ай бұрын
yea its an issue. They break. And the orings wear quicker than youd think. Very expensive solution that just creates other issues.
@AquorWaterSystems8 ай бұрын
@@CJ30123 Our connectors have a 5 year warranty on them and we do have spare o-ring parts available on our site. Pr0toPoTaT0 is correct that the plastic is to prevent wear and tear on the metal prongs. We do hear you and there is something in the works.

I had to drill through the rim joist to install my garage spigot this past Christmas. 1/3 max height of the joist is the size of the hole allowed, so this would be a no go for me.

I installed hot and cold water on the outside of my house during a remodel in 2007. Best thing ever. My faucet setup is similar to the older style you showed, but mine only leaks while in use. Annoying and wasteful, but for now it stays. $400 for this version is too rich for my blood. I love the concept, though. Maybe the price will come down a bit with time. For anyone considering adding hot/cold water outside the home, do it. So many great things can happen with hot water available outdoors, year round. I love it.

I bought and assisted my plumber with the installation of the cold only Aquor’s on my new construction house in 2018, have been trouble free since installation.. I bought them because water is expensive in MA (sewer use is tied to water usage), so a vandal could turn on a conventional spigot while you were away/at work/on vacation and you’d have a multi thousand $$$ water bill.. this was mainly to prevent that, and elliminate constant dripping of older style fawcets. I did install a cold/hot mixer in the attached garage, mainly to use on the pressure washer when washing the car in winter, could replace it with this, but I don’t use it much.
@djr42839 ай бұрын
My husband hooked up a faucet outside for bathing my dogs and vegetable cleaning and worked great first yr but always disconnected during winter ,but the following spring didn't work, maybe I will try this. It is super nice to have hot water outside

I get why the piece that plugs into the unit is plastic, makes sense from a longevity perspective of the stainless steel insert. Curious how well built that piece is. It does look sturdy.
@SilverCymbal9 ай бұрын
The plastic can be run over with a vehicle. Very dense stuff. I am told they do it for longevity. If you had metal on metal, every insertion would wear it down slightly. The plastic is somehwat lubricating and keeps it smooth from over 100,000 usees. When it is replaced, if needed there is 0 wear on the fixture. Reviews are insane on these, they are very well liked amzn.to/4aRhiHF

How do you install this or the normal aquor onto a house made of concrete for example? Houses in Florida where I dont have access to the other side of the wall or not enough depth for the angled part.
@SilverCymbal9 ай бұрын
If the backside if covered you would need to pen the drywall to get at the plumbing. It's not hard to do or repair and the hot cold is something you want, its worth the time. Fortunately if you have to change parts in the future, everythign is done from the front.

Pretty cool piece. I like my standard aquor connection. However this would suck to install in my house. I have a full size brick facade, about a 3/4" gap then sheathing. To boot, where my current bib is, vs how the floor joists are run, my estimation on the length of that product looks like the connection end of it would land right at a floor joist. This is not a grip towarda the product cause obviously they cant account for every scenario. More so a recommendation to people to scope out your install spot and see best you can if its going to work. The standard bibs are a little pricey so i imagine this one isn't at all cheap so it would be a big buzz kill to spend the money, get halfway into the install and realize it wont work or will need a lot of extra work to make it fit. A have lost a lot of faith in contractors in my area so i can only imagine what they would do to "make it fit" just for the sake of completing the job.

I like this but... I have a heavily used outside hot and cold faucet same as the 1980 pic just horizontal that gets replaced every 3 years or so. This would be perfect. The only problem is I would never buy it as long as there is only plastic QD and no brass QD.
@JohnD-JohnD9 ай бұрын
Really don't see this thing taking off for the price it costs and the fact you need an adapter to attach a standard garden hose. Hot water outside.. okay, that's cool, but you can do the same thing by just putting a separate hot water spout next to the cold one. If you want to make warm water, put a 2-way hose splitter on them in reverse. Will cost a quarter of the price of this thing and no adapters needed.

Giraffe sent me that reel amzn.to/3Tq309I and their vacuum for free to try out and it was up to me if would make a video or not, 0 pressure or obligation. I figured a real review would be using it for a while, I installed the reel last summer and the vacuum 2 weeks ago. The pressure washer works great, I have had 0 problems with it. The reason I like it a lot is that it is always there ready,. I have a powerful gas one that I hate to take out, and yup this wall one is less powerful and it doesn't matter. I use it for cleaning furniture, cars, etc. Works great for that. The convenience is the best reason I like it. If I need to strip lead paint from a building I will buy something else :)

Why do you have a separate faucet for your pressure washer?
@SilverCymbal9 ай бұрын
The pressure washer is only rated for cold water, and I used to just put a Y splitter on the hot/cold but unfortunately your spouse/kids don't always pay attention and just blow up your pressure washer running hot water through it. So now its a little more resilient.

@SilverCymbal9 ай бұрын
That's true, but won't be stainless steel, it won't be a mixing valve with a preset or have a built in disconnect or freezeproof with a lifetime warranty. Listen I am the first one to say dont buy it if its not what you want, but it's not the same as slapping in two boiler drain valves for $30. If those work do it but there are some diferences. Whether or not that's worth it is up to you.

Frost proof is really for outisde but I am in NH and even my garage area gets extremely cold,so I am ok with the plumbing in the insulated hallway. Two hose bibs are fine, but they are lousy if you want to get the temp right, especially if you use it a lot and just want a good temp.

Cool idea. But how much water is actually wasted in the .5 seconds that it takes to move from off to your desired position. Once you learn where your showers are comfortable, it becomes muscle memory to set it in the morning.
@SilverCymbal9 ай бұрын
Yes agreed but I would never use this someplace that didn't get a lot of use. Some pros use the aquor line in vans for details so from that aspect the water is really limited and every bit can help.
