You’re the best. I actually watch your videos whilst at work and it’s really opened my eyes. I have been slaving away and running round like a half wit for people , not charging enough and letting them own me! It’s all changing because of you. Thankyou from Cheltenham, England

I'm fat. I wasn't always fat. I notice a huge difference in how people interact with me. Started doing push-ups, dips, and dumbells at 3 am and whenever I can. I'm still fat, I still have customers. I'm a work in progress and making changes, thanks Thom

Tom, thanks for the amazing advice and deep insight about how we should approach the contracting world. I’m jumping headlong into this unknown territory myself, and your channel is just the pill that I need to ail my concerns and prep me for what’s ahead. You just gained an appreciative subscriber.

Hey man, Im a new contractor here in the Philippines. I just have quick question, is it important to be an engineer when you’re contracting?
@oldentimes2365 жыл бұрын
If you are a contractor wouldn't you already know the answer to your question? Anyway, maybe there are things in your situation that I am not aware of... so, here's an answer. Long answer... I personally have not met a contractor, general or otherwise who was an engineer. That's why or architects send the plans to an engineer. Short answer would be... no.

You always mention a 50% GROSS profit What should my ideal NET profit be ?
@contractorfighttv5 жыл бұрын
Depends on your overhead and what your ultimate goals are. It should be as high as possible. A higher gross profit will make it easier to have more in NET which is why I focus on Gross Profit.

As a business owner, the company pays me around $1000 a week, should my salary be included before the gross profit or is it part of the gross profit or is it part of the net profit?
@jasongettum40545 жыл бұрын
@@masterpaintcarpentryinctv8377 If you pay yourself a salary as the owner, your income comes out of gross profit.
@jasongettum40545 жыл бұрын
to be a little more clear, whatever you have leftover after you pay your job costs, your overhead/payroll,etc is your net profit. Most shoot for a 8-10% net but also depends on trade. Some specialty folks can get a lot more. Also depends on company size.
