No offence to anyone at all but Brian has to do some research on cars before next year I hope. You are a great voice for this and I love your commentary skills but in the first 3 hours you have made 12 mistakes concerning what model/make the cars are. There must be a registration list that has make/model and drivers info somewhere. use it. Thanks anyway. I love drag week. it brings out the true drag racer in all of us. congrats to David and all the folks at Hot Rod Mag for posting this on the tube. It gets pretty skinny on Drag racing this time of year in Edmonton AB, Canada.

Quick question about burnouts. I live in Scotland and can count on one hand the number of automatics I've driven so forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question. I've always wondered how you guys pull off these big burnouts on street cars? Are the front brakes applied separately to the rear to hold the car in position at the start of the burnout or are you just overpowering the rear brakes when holding the car in the one spot?

You can use a line lock (locks the front brakes) or just back off the rear brakes and use the foot brake (brake pedal).

It burns much better than normal fuel so you can add more air. The power isn't generated by the fuel its the oxygen in the air exploding that gives the power. Obviously you cannot burn too much air if your fuel doesn't burn well so they use better burning fuel like alcohol. Too much air and not enough fuel is called running lean. To much fuel and not enough air is called running rich. Hope this helps!
