REPLAY | Puglia, ITA | Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2021

Back-to-back stops in the south of Italy will round off the 2021 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, and the action begins in Puglia as the world's best cliff divers leap into the Adriatic Sea.
Following the cancellation of the planned season finale in Azerbaijan, Puglia is a late addition to the 2021 World Series calendar. Taking place in Polignano a Mare, where the season will also reach its conclusion at the final stop on September 26, Puglia will kick off an exciting doubleheader in the south of Italy.
To add some extra spice in the place where houses rise from the rocks, the plan is for at least one round to be completed directly from a balcony, before the divers return to the standard platforms.
Not only is the Puglia stop an important competitive addition to this disrupted season, it will also test the adaptability and versatility of the athletes.
Puglia's scenic coastline stretches over 750km and its biggest city is Bari, hallmarked by the Swabian castle, museums, several churches and monuments, and modern facilities such as an international airport, a tourist and industrial port, and fast railway connections.
An extremely pleasant climate makes this region the ideal setting for sports and nature activities all year round: trekking trails, cycling routes, horse riding, golf greens, diving centres, beaches equipped for windsurfing, sailing and kite surfing are Puglia's sports tourism highlights.
Polignano a Mare is the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, writer and interpreter of the world-famous song Volare, which means to fly. This summer, the world's best cliff divers will pay homage once again by spreading their wings from up to 27m.
