Katy Daley McLean is amazing. She controls her backs so well & seems to be psychic in understanding where every one of the opposition is and how to manipulate them.

Well, while the commentary concentrates of praising every move the Welsh ladies make the Roses continue to pile on the tries.

Gonna need to desperately find a decent back up for Katey Daley McLean at fly half for New Zealand 2021. Our standard drops when she's not there.

@Ed Swann Helena Rowland definitely, she' matured very well. Unfortunately not Zoe, she's a good club player, but over rated on the international stage.

When are the England red roses playing again
@1Molehill4 жыл бұрын
England sharpened so much once Hunter came on as No: 8, and Mo hunt came on as scrum half. They're the best Number 8 and scrum half in the world
@stevemathews95354 жыл бұрын
Whilst I have been a Mo Hunt fan for years and there is so little to choose between her and Leanne Riley, the latter just edges it for me with her aggression. It is a great situation for Simon Middleton to have such a choice and we must not forget Claudia McDonald who has so much potential. I think that Amber Reed is very underrated, probably the best tackler in the squad and with Emily Scarrett provides a mouth watering centre pairing.

I wonder if Laure Sansus , Pauline Bourdon and Kendra Cocksedge and ( and French and Kiwi supporters) would agree with you? Jade Konkel at 8 isn't bad either!
@1Molehill4 жыл бұрын
@@stevemathews9535 Probably not. But thats the nice thing about being a fan, you can be as patriotic as you like. I'm sure the Canoock's think they've got the best, and the Wallaroos fans think theirs are the best.

@@stevemathews9535 One of the reasons I love watching Mo is her understanding with Sunter and Katey Daley McLean. That axis of 3 players have been together for years and they understand each others thought processes.

Surely the respective RFUs should invest more in their women's game. Many of their women play in the ex Tyrrell's Premier for example so there is talent around so it would appear to me that the coaching of their international squads is lacking.

One girl is 17 and another didn't start playing until she was 25. That just shows how rubbish and uncompetitive the women's game is. It's is at least 10 years away from being ready for television and commercialisation. The sexism that's promoting this is making a mockery of the men's game.
@paulm24672 жыл бұрын
It has nothing to do with the men’s game, they are playing attractive rugby for the stage that they are, the women’s game is less than 40 years old and England only became the first fully professional team in 2019. I remember the amateur days of the fifties and sixties and there were some very ordinary players and awful games, much worse to watch than this, I remember several 0-0 and 3-0 matches, including an England v Ireland and I think even New Zealand had one.

Only just seen this comment and I have to say that your 'argument' - if that's what it is - doesn't hold a drop of water. I played rugby at school, university and at club level and enjoyed it immensely and have been an avid follower since I gave up playing. I have been watching the women's game for some time now and the improvement in skills and physicality over the last few years has been amazing. It is NOT the man's game in many ways, that's true, but I'll side with Brian Moore (who knows a bit about the game) when he says that you don't see "23 box kicks and never ending scrum resets", which are a common feature of men's rugby. Women's rugby at this level is fast and fluid and very entertaining, as I found when I attended the England v Wales match this year. I'll definitely go again. As a final note, if you find the women's game so repellent, why bother watching it? Nobody is forcing you to do so.
@michaelbaker74992 жыл бұрын
So, you’ve never heard of James Coughlan; Semesa Rokoduguni; John Hayes; Mike Ross? All started playing professionally at the age of 25 or after. And you’ve not heard the All Black saying “good enough is old enough”, or heard of George North, debut at the age of 19; Tom Curry, debut at the age of 18; Jonah Lumu, debut at the age of 19? Age is just a number. And if really think the red roses lack in depth why don’t you just go look at their squad. Of course it’s years behind the mens game, it’s not even fully professional yet. And, as Robin said, if you don’t like woman’s rugby, don’t watch it. I, meanwhile, will continue to enjoy the excellent and exciting performances put out by the Red Roses. And, finally, the person who’s being sexist here is you. You are the one who wants to treat one group differently simply because of their sex. That is, by definition, sexism.
