中学生の時、唯一、一つのコインでクリアできるアーケードゲームでした。中国にいましたが、最後のボス戦になるといつも大勢な人たちが後ろに立ち囲んで観戦してました。ボスを撃破するとみんなで「おー」と歓声を上げましたね。その興奮は多分今のコンソール世代が体験も理解もできない物で、本当に懐かしいです。

3面までは簡単だけど4面で急に難しくなって4面クリアできれば最終面まで行けてしまうゲーム。BGMのかっこよさは群を抜いてる。

コレとエリア88は現役稼働時狂ったようにやった 両方とも曲が気に入ったのでサントラ買った 二人でのプレイはやった事がないので見れてよかった 出来ればオールパーフェクトと相打ちENDもやって欲しい

This is my favorite Capcom side-scroller. The video kind of shows it, but the three planes each level up differently with the three different weapons. The Tomcat levels up fastest with the green, Hornet with yellow, and Intruder with blue. If you don't use autofire it really changes how the game is played and makes for an interesting challenge to 1cc with the different aircraft. Also there's a lot more hidden bonus points than they show, and you get a bonus if you destroy all enemies in the stage.

I love running into vintage titles I have never heard about, but maybe someone can help me? There’s this arcade side shooter from the 80’s that puts a unique little twist, as the second player takes control of a little tank, while first player takes control of a jet fighter.

Yeah that definitely sounds like Silkworm, except it's not a jet it's a helicopter (that one was a favorite when I was a kid going to the arcades). I don't remember one with a jet and a tank.

The Spiritual and maybe true Sequel of Area 88 if the stories are put together in place, They make a good connection to it. The true ending Area 88 deserves after being left out in the dust as Capcom did finished its story after all!

oh sh.... when i was 14 or so we went for a student exchange in the UK. back when the exchange ratio was 3 german mark to 1 uk pound. back when any for-money games weren't allowed for kids under 18 in germany. one day we were in a cineplex and they had a gaming hall. i think it was this game i found. i dropped 60 UKP (a HUGE chunk of my travel funds) in there - within an hour or so, only leaving the machine to get more coins... they had to drag me off the machine... damn damn damn... and it's still in my dreams sometimes after all those years. in other words: that game was the best illegal thing that could happen to a kid with (undiagnosed) ADHD.

sense the capcom charecter designer ripped off sean connery's apearence in the japanese version of this game i think i can safely say that this is a way better sean connery game then that awful the hunt for red october game for the nes,gameboy and snes that came out a year later after this game am i right or am i wrong

Why do people always use the wrong planes on this game? If the Intruder player was just gonna use the Vulcan the whole damn game, he should've just gotten the Hornet. At least the Tomcat's player had the excuse of switching it up ever so often.
