Than you so much for sharing this video. Fancy that at the ages of late 40's they learned to skate on something totally different. And beautifully. That takes courage and great talent. They are simply remarkable. I wonder if people ponder beyond their ice dancing genius that these two people who became known all over the planet remained down to earth and level headed. Neither let fame, success or wealth turn them into alcoholics, drug addicts or repulsive personalities. They are charming, loveable and as endearing off the ice as on. I've known many famous people in my life and many whose lives went off the rails. Christopher particularly could have had reasons owing to being abandoned by his mother but it did not ruin his life. Possibly the reason he was attracted to the wrong women as wives but his relationship with Jane is an incredibly healthy one. They are not only role models as athletes for hopeful ice skaters but they are more importantly I think excellent role models as human beings. I've been watching them since 1980 but due to my own chaotic life lost track in the late 80's. My opinion they should have won at Norway Olympics but the judging for ice skating was always a bit dubious. I am grateful for all the videos here at youtube as I have been able to catch up on some of what has transpired in their professional and personal lives. And for me they remain as inspiring and delightful as they were during the early 1980's. More so in fact. They counter the gruesomeness of much in the world at present and also confirm that despite despotic and lunatic world leaders there are also truly good people whose light shines in the darkness of our times.

I do skate on ice, since I was very young, but I was never a professional skater. I could only do spins and single jumps. But when I put on roller skates I was at a similar age with T/D. And I skated on roller blades as well as on ice skates from the very beginning. With figure skates I have slightly better control. I have never tried any figures on roller blades. There is no toe pick and you can't stop like in ice skating. But regular stroking is very similar.

This is beautifully written. You should be a writer! You probably are….really nicely written. And dead right about how the Famous can turn into repulsive alcoholics, yelling at people and being abusive of, & to, themselves. These 2 are the perfect lady and gentleman. Hard to find. Bruno and his partner, Alijona, remind me of that humility : not so much him but _definitely_ Alijona. The skating by Chris, & his fluency is flawless, he never takes his eyes off her, it’s haunting & looks effortless but it’s certainly not. ❤️

they must be in their fifties if they won gold in their twenties¡! it is jan 2019, about 30 years later!
I had NO idea that they couldn’t cut the music down more so started on their knees as the stopwatch starts when the blade touches the ice for the first time. Chris looks _exactly_ the same & Jayne is a classy, humble lady. I imagine the British are rightly still proud of this wonderful pair. They revolutionised ice dancing, turning it into something mesmerising, sexy & delicate but with tremendous fitness & power. They told a captivating story on ice which is _every_ bit as important as technique. ❄️⛸❤️

Aren’t they? 4:02 you see Aaron Eckhart joining in laughing: he’s a great, underrated American actor co-starring in Sully. This whole interview is more priceless than gold. Unless it’s a gold medal 🥇 of course. 😄
