Wow! That’s incredible Is this launching golf balls?

They were much shorter back then (kidding)

Clearly for the simplicity of the breech system there is no obduration pad. Is there much blow-by around the face of the breech plate?

A lot, if you see the difference between 1:04 and 1:08 ..maybe an idea to mill a brass 'case' with a powder chamber?
@rowbearpucklebuck2331Ай бұрын
@@YaoiMastah a heavy reusable gas check block with something like piston rings. It would increase pressure which could effect range and accuracy
@morecannonfabАй бұрын
Actually, all it needs is a heavier foil bag that doesn’t blow apart and it won’t leak. I made the foil bag one layer thick at the rear so it would be easy to pick the vent without pushing the charge forward. Open the vent hole in the bag prior to closing the breech and it will work fine.

@@morecannonfab ok thanks, by the way i am copying your recuperator for a 40mm rifled gun i made. I have an actual mount for a US 37mm anti-tank gun. Its too stiff for black powder loads, and so does not function. Your spring system is just right for the loads i am running.

Love it! Is it spring recoil or pneumatic?
@YaoiMastahАй бұрын
Judging by 2:30 it is spring recoil. Could use a buffer/brake for the counter recoil (a rubber pad, or a stiff spring, or a brass ring like on the browning auto 5).

Awesome! Is this considered a firearm? Is it also a destructive device? I know that muzzle-loading black powder cannons are not considered firearms at all under US federal law but I am not sure about breech loaders using black powder, non-fixed ammo, and firing golf balls only.
@morecannonfabАй бұрын
@@sbreheny It’s exempt from paperwork since it is a pre-1898 replica using an antique source of ignition.
