🌸 Franz Ignaz Günther (* 22. November 1725 in Altmannstein; † ?*.
Juni 1775 notiert.

🌺 Replica of a floral ornament by Ignaz Günther
Franz Ignaz Günther (* November 22, 1725, in Altmannstein; † June ?*, 1775, in Munich) was a German sculptor and representative of Bavarian Rococo.
He primarily worked for ecclesiastical clients. His church furnishings, architecturally designed altar structures, and especially his expressive and lively drapery figures represent a pinnacle of Rococo sculpture.
He also excelled as a draftsman of copperplate engravings and as an ornament and decoration artist.
In his entire body of work, influences of Classicism are also evident from 1766 onwards, which he approached with an open mind.
*The exact date of Ignaz Günther's death is not documented. In the records of his parish, St. Peter's in Munich, only his burial on June 28, 1775, is noted.

What is the name of the measuring tool you use, please and thank you for showing the work you do

This tool is a custom-made device for measuring the height of the ornament at the respective location and transferring it to the blank. One could call it the "transfer bridge." The spike that takes the height is secured with a cork.
