I looked at my derksen price list as you were going through the sheds. They only dropped each one by 1K off the price if you bought them new. Not much considering those are repos. Pay the extra thousand and get it brand new.

Probably the best Ryan's Shed Plans on building a shed is hardly found ever . kzbin.infoUgkxQpIlQoblai43PcQ4AibWJ5a4AaGfwzpx And Ryan's takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.

What does it really need to have done inside? It's a shed! Unless it has structural problems and/or rot, it OK to buy if you save a couple of grand.
@ShaneZettelmier
@ShaneZettelmier 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve looked at used repo sheds before. Another thing to remember isDid they deliver these things on trucks that’s a lot of shaking and twisting and bending and they are a simple 2 x 4 construction with nails and moving it’s not really good for it at all. It’s kind of just part of getting a shed when it’s built somewhere else and move to your house. If you can have it go straight from the manufacturer to your house that’s the best case scenario otherwise it goes from the manufacture to the dealer from the dealer to your house and that’s two moves if it’s re-Po’ed it goes from the house back to the dealer and then have to go from that dealer to your house so theoretically you’re getting The building moved three or four times and structurally that’s just not a great idea so it’s more than just what the other people did to it to consider. I found some that I almost got camo one because it was damaged and just cheap but I would’ve had to rebuild the front of it and get some 10 for the roof and I needed something finished to move stuff in the day it was delivered because we were buying a new house and moving from out of state so I ended up buying a new one, another one I almost bought looked pretty much new but they wanted way too much for a repo and it had some grease on the floor like it had a lawnmower or something in there and you can clean and do all that but I would’ve done just that save the money but the fact it has been moved four times instead of just once or twice kind of put me off and it just wasn’t worth what you were saving. They were selling a new one for 7600 and that one was only about $1000 less. Honestly I think they weigh over value repo sheds and that’s the biggest problem. They sell a new shed somebody else kind of trash is it and then they want you to pay almost new prices for them because somebody only had it for a couple months and made minimum payments and they still want to break even on it and I would rather just pay the $800 or 1000 and have a new one with the windows and doors and everything and colors exactly like I want it. For Jason oh I thought it was kind of crazy that he was talking about buying a shed. A simple 2 x 4 frame construction like that would be nothing for him to build from scratch and he could build it for about 40% or less than half of what they’re charging even with high material costs. If he mils the stuff himself he could build that for almost free and save A few thousand dollars because you only have to pay for the 10 in the hinges and the nails and screws and plywood. The two of you together now would make that a pretty easy job with your skills and if you mailed your own wood instead of using that cheap siding and crab softwood it would probably be a lot stronger and last a lot longer. Really the only thing holding the sheds together is paint and once that water gets under the paint that siding is pretty much trashed so for you guys to buy one I think would be throwing away a few grand but for someone who needs one right away that’s already built it serves a purpose. I think buying a used or re-Po’ed one just depends on the condition it’s in and how much they’re asking but I would definitely negotiate on those repo prices because every place I’ve seen is asking almost with a new one would cost and if they sold to somebody with crappy credit that’s kind of their problem and they’re trying to pass it onto you. The fact that it’s not new even if it’s in perfect condition should knock at least 1000 or two grand off the top of a seven or $8000 building, if it’s got stains inside I had a bunch of stuff done to it, unless it’s exactly what you wanted to do it should be a grand or two less and I think they way overcharged for repose but I’m guessing those prices are somewhat negotiable at most places. I’m sure every dealer is going to be a little different and every building is going to be in a different condition so you just have to kind of see what they have and see what kind of deal you can get

Thanks for your video. I was thinking of buying a repo. And I may do it if I find the right size that I have in mind...because the offers are half price of a new one. Builders are jacking up the price of wood these days. So a new 12x36. Cost @ 16K. Not including ground prep and insulation. A new 14x36. With porch, extra windows and floor upgrades and 20% lumber market charge is $23K. Date of estimate is August 2021.

For those prices, spend a little more and buy new. The one barn style with the porch would go nicely up at Jason's and make a great cabin for George and Melanie in my opinion. The only reason to MAYBE buy a repo is strictly for a storage shed, not a tiny house.

Jared I think it would help to know what a new shed would cost now of the same kind. Also it would help to know, why the shed was being bought ie as a home or for storage or as a barn. I thought that all except the one you really did not like had potential. I think some one who needed a shed and could save a few grand and was handy could get a good deal. However if sheds are like cars sometimes the new one has a better deal from the bank as you can get a loan for a new one and not the used one in some cases.

The 12x32 fart she'd that you pointed out had cat claw marks on the screen was prob from being locked in by mistake and couldn't hold his breath any longer and wanted at. If it wasn't rank inside it wouldn't be bad but the second to last one would be my choice. The last one would not be good for the little walkway and stairs aren't wide enough to get any furniture up there unless all of it was inflatable

if you find anything that has a permanent smell such as cigarettes, you can actually get rid of it by having a water spray bottle mixed with baking soda (mix it in warm water with baking soda until deluded, then pour it in the spray bottle). Spray it on everywhere and it is permanently gone forever. we had a disturbing smell one time in our house and used the same baking soda spray bottle and it works wonders.

It was interesting to see how the space was impacted by that stairway on the last one, and the lofts were too deep. Also, I think I'd rather have the uninterrupted main floor space and just build a traditional porch off the end of the house rather than give away that inside space.

Wow! Holy moly! Not a contractor or anything, but as a military spouse and having to move so many times in my lifetime, I know what looks and usually will end up being shottie work. You tend to learn a thing or too just moving around. I mean, you know if the tile guy did a good job or not by how the tiles look uniform and not wonky just to save time and or a buck. Most of them wouldn’t want me, because before I would pay them in full, I may be asking them to redo it.

I don't know what part of the country you are in, but in the Wash D.C. area a 12x24x7 shed costs 9k delivered. I would think that 10x20 with super high ceiling is a great price here.

I like the last one the best. But instead of those scary stairs I would do a ladder for each loft, frees up space.

Feel so sad for the people that even a shed gets repossessed. But the last one would be good......NEW, though. Little porch area so cute.
