This is nothing to do with shirk, it is just visualizing the story of Karbala, it is for good for the people to understand the history and sacrifices of Imam Husain. No body said Imam was God or son of God that’s called shirk. Let me explain in more simple way so u understand in better way, ever year in death anniversary of our grand parents like people do recite Quran and give food or do something good, recite Surah fateha, it is same thing.
