Don't cut off your nose despite your face. Don't get cute. Fixing the O- LINE and having some quality DEPTH is the main THANG. Protecting AR is the key 🔑. JD has OPTIONS @ the #10 pick overall . Then use that 2nd rd pick to get a WR. I like BJT but he won’t be in the 2nd rd. I say draft Xavier Leggett, Ricky Pearsall or Malachai Corely. Then double down in 3rd or trade back into 2nd rd and take a OG like Graham Barton, Cooper Beebe, or Christian Hayes. If there gone then OG Zack Zinter or Mahogany should be the pick.

So what happens when, not If, Tyron Smith misses 4 games? We just found that Jim Harbaugh told Joe Douglas that RT Morgan Moses may need season ending Shoulder surgery this upcoming season and Joe Douglas still made the trade. So what happens when 1 of the starting OTs goes down? Neither Mitchell or Warren did anything to prove they can handle a starting OT position this upcoming season. Matter of fact, Mitchell hasn't proven shit since he was drafted. Warren MIGHT be better this year, but that's a big might to rely on. No matter how great the weapons we have, no QB can make throws off his ass and no RB can open holes by himself. Even Pat Mahomes lost a Superbowl when both his starting OTs went down to injury in the playoffs. Matter of fact, it was the catalyst for them drafting Humphries, Trey Smith, and trading for a LT in 2021. 😮

Other than Nabers if available it should be tackle at 10, trading back makes sense as well but it takes two to tango. So I am fine with what you are suggesting. If the JETS trade back a little bit more Troy Franklin is a guy I really like.

I would love Brock Bowers! But unfortunately I have doubts that Nathanial Hacket can fully unlock his potential. He's not that creative a play designer and it was mostly the greatness of Aaron Rodgers that made his past offenses work. Though this is one instance where I hope I'm wrong.

Hackett is a ball & chain, part of Rodgers' useless baggage. Until they get rid of him, they will do nothing, especially if Rodgers goes down in 5 to 7 games, as I expect. He is the least creative, least adaptive OC in the NFL. A bad coach & a mediocre teacher. He needs to be fired yesterday, but these Jets always make their decisions & moves after it's too late.

I've been calling for a trade back for months. with how JD has filled out our needs in Fa, it's a no brainer.I like Fautanu and Thomas.Also Mims, Guyton. Jackson Powers-Johnson would be hard to say no to despite having Tippman.

We’re good at TE in my mind. We don’t need 3 starter caliber guys. I’d say Rome would be the best grab if not a lineman or two to be our future starters.

Banging the table for Jets to trade down 1 or 2 times. Grab Adonai Mitchell, and your future left tackle in the late or 2nd rd. Fill other needs in the draft with the rest of our resources. Mitchell is a Higgins 2.0 size, elite speed, good route runner, and 50/50 ability.

I been a NYJ fan for over 50 yrs. The one thing that has been true with every AFC championship team or perennial playoff team that we have had throughout the 1980’s, 1990’s, 2000’s and 2009-2011 was a dominant offensive line. I don’t want Joe Douglas to get cute , I don’t want a weapon with the first round pick. I want a stud offensive tackle that could come in and play this year if needed and will set us up for success in the future. I want another offensive lineman in the third round because we won’t be able to pay Wilson, Hall, Gardner, Johnson and other necessary players, if we have to continually go out and get veteran free agent, talent for the offensive line,. At least this way you have two or three other players on cheap rookie deals for the next 4 to 5 years. I want JD to trade back, get a second round pick. Draft an OT and yes it should be Fautanu, Suamataia or Mims. Then use that 2nd rd pick to get a WR. I like BJT but he won’t be available in the 2nd rd. The strength of this draft is offensive line and wide receiver, but the best offensive lineman will be gone by the third round. The best offensive tackles will be gone in the first round. There will be plenty of wide receivers deep into the fourth round, so it’s best to get the offensive tackles first, the wide receivers second round, and double up on interior offensive lineman the third round. We should be able to draft a good safety with the second fourth round pick that we have.. I like a kid named Storm Duck out of the University of Miami as an undrafted CB , free agent. I really think he would be a good developmental cornerback behind Gardner.

I think if you sign Williams there’s no need to trade up for him since we have Garrett Wilson. At that point stay put and take BPA like a Bowers or best WR

I think it depends on their board. Like if in their mind they think that the difference in value between a guy like Odunze and the next WR on their board is small, then the benefit of getting a 2nd or 3rd round pick is probably worth it. But if they think "no, there's a huge drop off after this guy" then go ahead and take him. My question is - if the Jets trade down and intend to draft OT, do they go with a guy like Fautanu that has position versatility and seems ready to start soon or does Joe Douglas revert back to his philosophy of taking as much upside as possible and go for a guy like Mims or Guyton?

If we can trade back, get a second rounder back, and still have one of the top lineman staring us in the face at say 18-20, we have to go that route, but if none oft he top 4 or 5 guys are there, play maker. Im hearing the OLine class is something else, well be able to get a developmental piece int he later rounds too. THis is going to get very interesting.

I dont think they can go wrong with this pick. Trade back with Cincu, they take Bowers, you get that 2nd you don't currently have then take Mims or Guyton or Fautanu then with 2nd take a WR. Plenty of WR depth. Wouldn't Bowers be more of a luxury pick.

No, no way they cannot trade down. Whether the Jets like it or not they are all in this year and if we are being honest only guys in the top 10 can make an instant impact this year. Whether its Alt or Fashanu at line or Nabers/Bowers as pass catchers. Trading down wil give us more picks but hurt our performance next year so no.
