I honestly wouldn’t mind Gruden. Outside of Vrable I think he is one of the better true leaders of men that could bring leadership and accountability to this organization. I don’t think we should go with a first time head coach.

Was all that controversy about Grudens emails overblown ? Don't you think that Woody is a HUGE deterrent to most of the best HC candidates ? Constant meddling, overriding GMs decisions, telling Mike White he sux, Zack Wilson, Metlife Turf.. the list goes on for days Ben Johnson is on record stating he won't take a job where the Front Office is in chaos, don't have a coherent plan for the future = NY Jets

Both Gruden and Ryan were good head coaches in their day. Ryan helped the Jets primarily by bringing players from a good Ravens franchise along with him. Neither of these guys have the relationship resources to bring in current players.

Respectfully, I disagree that the Bears don’t make sense, and here’s why .. John Gruden just signed a deal with barstool who relocated their headquarters from New York to Chicago; and one of the colleagues he has now who is most responsible for bringing him over to barstool is big cat, who happens to be a big Chicago Bears guy. I think it makes sense when you consider him having to keep up with his barstool obligations as well as come back to coaching. Chicago is a great landing spot for him, wouldn’t mind him with the Jets, but I’m hoping for Vrabes.

That would be a terrible hire. He hasn't done anything since that Super Bowl almost 20 years ago. He is living off making faces and looking like Chucky. Look what happened at the Raiders with him and Mike Mayock. Gruden would probably bring Rodgers back and trade Wilson. That in-your-face approach doesn't work in today's NFL. If you look at the top teams in the league, there is no ground and pound, rah-rah, making faces. It's innovative, getting guys in space, creating mismatches. Guys like Shanahan, McVay, O'Connell, etc. Those Cowher and Parcells types-those days are in the past.
