REPORT: The Cleveland Cavaliers are expressing serious interest in trading for Cam Johnson

Cavs have been in talks to acquire a longer athletic wing like Cam Johnson for years now. The questions are, what would they be willing to give up & what CAN they give up to get him? They have tons of 2nd rounders, LeVert's expiring contract, some expendable players like Niang, Okoro & Wade, & young players like Porter Jr, Bates & Tyson. They def can get him if they really want him & feel like he'd make them better compared to what they'd be giving up. Would really like them to avoid trading Caris if possible b/c he's been so valuable coming off the bench, plus they still own his Bird rights.

I'd go: Mitchell Jerome Cam Wade Mobley Against those teams. We have height and 3-point shooting. Mitchell is 6’1 but he plays like he's 6’8

That’s a complacent attitude. The Cavs have a clear weakness at the wing and it has now been exposed 6 times by teams strong at that position. The Cavs better be thinking about how they can shore up that weakness at the right price. The 2008-2009 Cavs won 66 games and lost in the second round of the playoffs because they had clear weaknesses that could be exploited.

It's the risky trade for Cavs as they will run out of good stockpile whatever they have left or tight cap. It has to pay off big time or else. Rather upgrade a few from the bench and acquire some very good prospects for the bench without giving up too much limited assets.

Cavs have too many small players and OKC wanted the Cavs to go small. Shai said, it was game over when that happened. Denver is a team looking for a number two, to put next to Jamal Murray. So the options exist for a 3 team trade. While Cam Johnson is the better option, i would prefer the Cavs take a chance on Kuzma, as his value is probably at an all time low and has the almighty deep playoff experience McNuggets claims Strus has. LOL. Having Kuzma come off the bench would help the dynamics of size and shooting and Kuzma can create his own shot with a 7 ft wingspan. Not that he is a great defender, but neither is Cam Johnson.

Why can't anybody else see it? Garland is only happy when he's leading in scoring. I've always felt that he genuinely hates seeing Michael shine. It's a occurred situation to me. Listen to Garland whenever he's asked about Mitch. He's small and immature. I'd trade him while he still has value. I don't like the pairing of him and Mitch. I'd trade Garland and Okoro away. I like the pairing of Ty Jerome and Mitch much better. The smart move would be mixing it now so the team has time to gel before the playoffs. My starting five would be: Mitch Ty Jerome Cam Johnson Evan Allen I'd also start working Tyson into the lineup because I think he's a better player than the inconsistent Levert. Get Porter some time, too, because the kid can play.
