I ran the P08 in my 06 zx6r and to be perfectly honest I went with that filter because it’s the filter everyone and they mom was talking about. Proven Power and performance down here in St. Pete Florida did a comparison with the OEM, Sprint and DNA. His findings were incredibly interesting in that each were 1hp apart, and that was with the screen taking off of the OEM filter. Dude Mungus did the best comparison between DNA & Sprint IMO being he had it on the dyno, but also real world testing. So while he showed the dyno sheets to show the numbers, he also ran it with both against other bikes and recorded with dragy data. When entering this world of motorcycles most resort to KZbin to get information, and when as tuner or shop you have products that you sell. You’re not gonna talk bad about those products, it’s your job to sell them. When your a big name with a reputation, only a few would actually ask questions. I’ve seen first hand on the east coast with multiple guys having dirt in their airbox, and not just 6th gen Zx10r’s but 5th gen’s, R1’s and GSXR’s. At the end of the day it’s about your personal preference and goals. Not to mention the type of riding you do. Personally I’d suggest doing some real research on whatever upgrade you do, and ask questions, don’t just follow for the sake of following.

I don't sell these and are not affiliated with Sprint. I be first to call a product trash when I feel it is. I've personally installed and maintained 3 sprint filters with no sign of debris making it past the filter media. I agree oem filters are well designed these days and having dyno data agree buying an aftermarket filter for gains should be secondary. It's convenient is what they are. No need to order oe go to a dealer, simply clean it and pop it back in. I'll be opening my bikes up again in a bit. First sign of crud past it I will call it out. But until then no issues on my end.

Sir the key in your statement and is very apparent in your videos is you maintain your bikes very well. I also recall hearing your in the Michigan area so I take it riding is seasonal. As well as I’d ask what type of riding do you do, and frequency? Those bikes that came in for service were in the PA/NY area where I seen dirt and debris in peoples airboxes. Only 1 had the F1, the rest P08. In none of those cases was that gasket you were referring to the culprit, but I’m not negating the validity of of your point. I wasn’t referring to you, as being a KZbinr who sells Sprints, I’m sure you’re very aware of Tuner/Mechanic KZbin content creators who do, and that’s what I was speaking to. I mean let’s be honest, today’s way of doing research is by way of Google and KZbin. My personal experience was with my 06 zx6r and being at that time I was relatively new to motorcycles I thought it was a common thing like wear and tear. Wiped my box down as I did the heat wrap mod blew off the filter and didn’t think much of it. One of the selling points besides increased airflow I believed was the Sprint filter requires NO oil to clean nor maintain. Brock demonstrated this point in Mike Davis’s Gixxala build 17 or 18 GSXR1k, and he cleaned Mikes filter with compressed air. As well as his site, which does have a nice write up on the difference’s between the aftermarket air filters. Maybe you are on to something with adding some oil to the airbox though, I do appreciate that insight. I’m not attempting to argue nor troll or anything like that. You seem to be a genuine creator with a similar passion for these awesome machines we attempt to tame. Like yesterday attending the TRC street kings event down here At Bradenton. It was an incredible event, but what caught my attention the most was what I felt. The level of passion, dedication and commitment those guys have to be the best at what they do was damn near intoxicating. So again sir I’m just here to learn. My apologies if it seemed otherwise.

My first 3k mile po8 filter check on my 21 S1000RR was very disturbing to me. Although mine wasn't as bad as another video I seen, it was definitely enough for me to throw it away immediately. I wish I had taken pics. I've been a metric mechanic for almost 2 decades now and have always worked on my own bikes since i was a kid. I installed it when I did the stage 2 flash and tune. I know it was seated properly. The 2 hp gains definitely isn't worth the compromise of all that grit getting past. Track bike, maybe. Road bike. Never again.

Running a sprint P-08 in my kawasaki H2 cleans every 3500 miles along with the oil/filter absolutely no dirt etc inside the airbox checks with a very bright light I ran the OEM airfilter for 3500 miles when i bought the bike new and i couldn't see any different in the airbox if i did the P-08 be gone Im in Ireland so like not exactly a desert here.On the H2 its mists the P 08 with oil from the engine so that in itself would help normal enought anything running boost will oil the airfilter slightly Loves the ease of cleaning the P-08 main reason i purchased it you can here the super charger so much better too

So... I used the bmc, so I switched for p08. I tune my bike with woolich. So, I don't know why, with p08 the mix get riched, I lost power. I return for bmc, and the mix got lean again... I think, p08 only works on dyno, because you don't have positive pressure inside airbox...
@NoBSZone

Are you correcting the tune for the change from one filter to another? The air pressure intake sensor data is adjustable. My bikes are producing over 200hp with p08 tuned appropriately.

@@MrAlanstadnick I'm saying intake air pressure is monitored by a sensor and the fueling adjusted accordingly. I would expect yes sprint to allow more air pressure past it. Put it on a dyno and inject air into ram air hole.

@@NoBSZone unfortunately the map sensor only monitor zx10r until 50% tps. After this the zx10r works in close fuel loop (static mS injection). Nowadays, only s1000rr (2020+) and v4r works like a car ECU. Narrow bands are not fast like wideband to make the zx10r works in FOL.

@@rrydinhigh2452 Not necessarily about the few hp. In many cases the aftermarket materials indeed do filter better. As well being able to simply clean the filter vs buying another is a bonus. A service check of the air filter takes a mear 20 minutes to do and I can assure you a quality aftermarket filter cleaned out every oil change is serving the bike better than a oem one at 12k+. The hp gains are simply a bonus. Not saying oem are not adequate as they are.
