@@seiver5353 Yes, workers withdrawing their labour at the most impactful time. You're trying to blame the workers for this stoppage and not management. When the government steps in with legislation every time someone is inconvenienced with a work stoppage, why would management negotiate at all? What leverage do workers have in that situation? Managers know the impact that their workers have on the national economy and bank on governments legislating workers back to work, plain and simple. Everybody gets to claim victory for everyday Canadians (managers, government) and workers are made to be the scapegoat and labelled as "greedy".

What about the workers of other rail companies who forced out of work Monday because of the strike actions? What about the workers who will be laid off because shipments are not arriving at their facilities? What even about to economic impacts that this will have on Canadians as a whole. You simply cannot hold the supply chain hostage like this. Stop limiting yourself to being for one side or the other, its not a binary equation. You can find a nuanced opinion that supports the labour rights of all Canadians while also respecting the one of the rail workers. To randomly say "solidarity with workers" whilst also completely omitting the fact that these strikes would have massive consequences for all workers across Canada. Solidarity for some but not for all eh.

They realize that the official inflation rate is absurd. Rather than 2-5% the real number is at least 5 times higher. 2-3% wage offers will be laughed at. The feds created every penny of inflation which had the effect of lowering everyones pay by 10-20% or more. Trying tro be conservative but if you ever buy food you know the numbers are much higher. Not a big union fan but the why surrounding this mess is obvious. That said, if you control the nations food supply you should not have the option to strike and cut off this food supply. The only other shipping option is by truck which costs a great deal more further adding to the inflationary spiral.
