I built this and the B-25 when I was in high school. Major investment for me at the time. For their day they were well detailed. Thanks for posting, brought back some memories.

I'm glad I found your channel. I love watching the more professional builders with all the accuracy, metal etching and perfect weathering, but it's refreshing to find someone with my mindset and abilities. I built models as a kid and then rediscovered the love a few years ago. The problem I got myself into was not wanting to build or finish a model unless I could be as perfect and professional as the videos I was watching. Now I have started again with the mindset that I will do the best I can while still having fun. Thanks for your videos.

Thanks, I think!?! 😂 I'm not a professional by any means. I build for me and I try to make it fun. It's a hobby and hobbies are supposed to be fun! I build a little bit of everything! If it's a model then I will build it! Thanks for watching and enjoy your hobby!

Excellent presentation! My late father-in-law was the Staff Sergeant MOS 612 Armorer/Flex Right Waist Gunner on "Belligerent Beauty," B-17G-100BO 43-38942. Dick painted the nose art for this aircraft and his prior B-17G, "Piccadilly Commando." There was no camo paint of any type. The tail lettering was: Blue B within a Black Square (95th BG(H)); Serial # less the decade indicator of "4", 338942-; Below the serial # was the Yellow, "Y" which indicated the R/f code. "Belligerent Beauty" had no squadron identifier because it was a replacement aircraft, but it had its rudder painted Red in March 1945. The flight/ground crew returned to the States after its last Chowhound run in May of 1945. The plane was later delivered to Oklahoma for scrapping. Dick passed away on 24 March of this year at the age of 101. He retired as a Major in the USAFR in 1983 with 40 continuous years of active duty and reserve time. Dick taught art at San Jose State University for over 30 years and was named after Maynard Dixon, the artist known for his "Depression Era" and "Southwest" portraits and landscapes.

I enjoy building molds. I use liquid rubber cut with ammonium. I intend to build several B-17 f's. I have both the Revell, and monogram B-17's. The interior detail of Monogram kit is great I'm, so in order to do in a B-17 f with good interior details I have to splice a B-17f with a B-17g and I intend on making molds of the F model. I truly hope the tolerances are not too different. At one time Revell and Monogram were competitors.

I really enjoy building aircraft. I don't build as much as I would like to right now. I love the bombers. Any on them would be great to build. I am making plans for a B-26 Marauder build. I would imagine that you would have to do a few mods to make the interior work. Not sure what year kit you have!

I have the same kit in my stash, copyright 1975, and I have the same instructions with no wing assembly instructions. Pretty big oversight on the part of Monogram. Your build looks great, I'll be referencing it when I get around to building mine.

Your model turned out really quite nice although you were as it sounds somewhat peed off with several different issues you that popped up during the build. Well as I'm also building the kit o e of the first things I would like to point out is that although the instructions are far too simple and a properly detailed set should alway be supplied with such kits as a minimum requirement one can actually install he undercarriages in an up wheel position. All must however be organised adequately prior to sticking the upper and lower halves of each wing side together. This is actually exactly how I have planned my version of this beautiful 1/48th scale B17G. I've planned to have this bird in a flying mode together with several other warbirds of also 1/32nd scale and maybe even 1/72nd scale, but the project at the moment is just in my mind and not started except for three aircraft. A Spitfire a Messerschmitt well and the B17G are I build and a 1/32 nd scale Mosquito and a 1/32nd scale Corsair are still boxed and awaiting build. So far this is the plan and let's hope it all gets further on the way once I get it together go carry on. My problem is my health which time and time again puts the brakes on my projects but hey I don't wanna moan here as we all have one issue or another as our lives unravel. At least we are lucky to not be living in a war zone or are experiencing any of the catastrophic weather outbursts which other parts of the world are. We can all be grateful in this regard and just pray it stays this way for as long as possible and also pray for all those who are going through tough times right now! Any day without such catastrophes is a BLESSING which none of us should take for granted. Thanks for taking the time to read my message and thoughts and keep on modelling and sharing your great builds. Cheers, Gordon

I'm here for you to vent to whenever you need to!: 😊

They can´t put knockout pins on "the back side" because the part wants to stick in the side of the mold that has a lot of detail and depth. the part will already come out of the mold half that forms the back side of the part.

Nice build, but FYI for future reference there should be no soot streaming from the intercooler vents. Any exhaust staining would be emanating from the cowls. Nice looking model!

Why the thumbnail of a B-17 E if you are building a G? Besides the obvious chin turrets the E has a multi pieced nose glazed section rather than the one or two piece of an F or later?
