Thank you so much , I am slowly transferring my plants to the chunky mix and my plants are doing so much better. With 100 plus plants it may take a bite of time. I am glad you showed how to clean up roots, as it helped me rescue a grand daughters birkin from root rot. I do have a second tool to suggest to you, while I use my pencil like you I have included a pencil size art paint brush. I works great for gently cleaning out the crevices when I can’t use water.

I love the pot extender. I’ve seen others use plastic hard paper sleeve covers. But it never looks good. While yours didn’t match color wise it still looks great.

Great video! I would really appreciate some advice from you. My Jacklyn is still I guess what you'd consider a seedling. It's in a 2 in pot and pushing new growth. However, the very end of the leaf tips are turning a yellow/brown color. I noticed yours Jacklyn has some of that as well. What causes this? I don't want it to get worse 😫 I water when it's mostly dry using only rainwater. It sits about 1 foot from an east facing window, humidity is 50-65% and temperature is 68-70°F. Maybe it needs more light or more constant humidity? What are your growing conditions like? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. 🌿

hey, may I ask what is the issue when the leaves got brown / yellow at the tips (happens tips only)?

nice I just got a thai con last thrs I put it in a chunky mix and watered it that day. yesterday I checked it and it looked a little dry so a gave it a little water not even enough to run through I'm so nervous about root rot. mine is about the same size as yours I found it on etsy

As long as it's in a chunky mix getting bright light and it should be fine. Just give it time to grow

Put your alocasias in PON! I put all mine in PON and they are all thriving! Getting lots of leaves and the leaves are sizing up!

This is one of my wishlist Alocasia the leaves looks amazing and unique like a dragon’s tooth or something. I am on the verge off giving up on Alocasia i only have the Dragon Scale left which i bought in Ikea. The ones I bought online didn’t survive i think from transit eventually.

Oh no.....most times when people think they die they actually just went dormant

Sometimes when I’ve repotted an alocasia they’ve gone into shock and die back to the corm. I’ve thrown plants like that away before I learned the corm often survives and will put out new leaves with time. Now I’ve got my azlanii and black velvet are pushing new leaves. I highly recommend the jacklyn. It needs a lot of humidity but with that I think it’s one of me Easiest.

What's your chunky mix ratio?

At about 4 mins into the video lol I mention it's about a 60/40 orchid bark mix to soil. Honestly I just eyeball it.... probably closer to a 70/30.

OMG alocasias.....I love them, but they hate me. I paid much money for a small plant......It continues to grow, produce new leaves, but then the leaves die off. It is in a 2 inch pot....i am afraid to move or touch it. What are the requirements in order to get a good thriving plant????? help!!!

They like a bright warm area, don't like to dry out but also don't like to be too wet..... Lol and that's about it
