Hi, I've bought two small drosera today, paradoxajavad and sundew. I'm looking for advice on growing. Here in UK we only have peat free compost. Can this be used with perlite? Thank you

1) No. 2) No 3) No 4) Do not use any type of water filter unless it takes the TDS to almost zero, and has no way to re-introduce minerals. 5) Neither 6) It doesn't matter 7) Incorrect. You need to fully distill it. It's not a problem of bacterial contaminants. It's not even the chlorine or chloramines, it's all the dissolved solids in the water. They will VERY quickly build up in the soil and kill the plants. Also, unlike he was talking about here, you don't really change the soil because of pests, so much as you want to change it for any contaminants that may be building in the soil (including dead bugs and parts of the plants) but that it will break down and begin to compact more. You also likely don't want to plant right up against the side of the planter like that, as you're not giving the plant any more room to grow.

You can use filtered water for CP´s just fine, but is it worth the investment? Do you have access to a TDS-meter? Try it on your tap water to see if it below 100 (or even a bit lower just to be sure). The lower, the better. Brita is fine for a jug and will do the trick but you´ll need to change filters when it is saturated with minerals. Do you have access to rainwater? That is the cheapest water for plants. I´ve been using it for years. Whatever you do, do NOT boil your water. It makes the amount of minerals in your water go up, so it is bad for your plants. If you have more questions, shoot

I used tap water for mine and it works too, you dont always have to buy fancy equipment. You can try to water one pot with filtered and the other with tap water and see if there is any difference😊

Size varies depending on species. This one only gets abour 5 cm diameter
