I’m a gardener and when I am cleaning out the garden I get excess plants. I solve this by putting the plants on the front lawn in a low cardboard box and write “Free to good home”. Empties with on 2 hours. I live across the road from a school so 2pm - 3pm is my best choice. Just leave the Aloe outside in a pot till your 100% sure what you want to do with it.

I’m 66 and live in Central IL, and totally understand how awful humidity can be! I’ve been walking every day, and do NOT do mornings. So I walk in the worst possible time of day. So weird - almost every time I walk, someone pulls over and asks if I’m okay or if I need help. Reminds me of when I was young - guys would always yell out car windows at me…it’s just not the same. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

OMG that is so me. Up at 8am but drink coffee n not move til 10am. I've been meaning to buy myself an aloe vera plant. Just trim it down. My mother-in-law had one for years and she kept trimming it down Every time we got burned or got a rash she'd cut a hunk of it off and rub it all over and it helps so much. 👍😊❤️

Oh my gosh I don't think I've ever been able to climb on a cabinet like that! I'm impressed. I'm 71, and I can't handle heat anymore. I can work in the yard and garden for a while,but only if I can get cool in the house. I don't know how we lived through the days with no air! 🥵

Great how flexible you are, up on the worktop down cross legged on the floor, impressive. Uk weather changes like the wind, hot and sunny, cloudy and humid, wet and windy, thunder and lightening, hardly ever just a nice comfortable temperature with a slight breeze. I’m very lucky as I have AC in my bedroom, a luxury in the UK. I can sleep well in a cool room during humid nights. Today I returned to a hairdresser I had years ago ( she left to have her family) and I had to go elsewhere. Amazing cut, feels so nice. I was told recently by a younger stylist they only get taught how to cut long hair as ‘it’s the fashion’. If you want a precision short cut, lord help you 😂. Thank you for your videos I love them. You are a hoot.

So different. In New England I think most homes have air conditioning. The newer homes all have central air. At this stage I think I would melt without AC in my bedroom. So spoiled. I agree with what the young hairstylist told you. Precision hair cutting in a lost art.

Good morning, Margaret! What a beautiful morning it is. All my plants died when the furnace went out a few years ago. I think I was dying a slow death too. I called the fire department once because my carbon monoxide alarm in the basement was going off. They had me open the windows and go outside and wait in my car until the firemen arrived and could check things out. By the time they got there, the house was cleared of fumes and they blamed it on a faulty CO2 detector. Turns out it was a cracked heat exchanger and the furnace was putting out fumes and the pilot light would not stay lit. My landlord finally sent a heating guy who locked down the furnace. It took 3 days of sitting by my oven bundled up like an eskimo and trying not to freeze to death before the new furnace was installed. Of course, things like this only happen when it's -20 wind chill outside. My plants didn't make it. Thank God I did, but I was a very sick girl for a while there due to furnace fumes. I've not bought any new houseplants since. Today I make a trip to a nearby town to see a dermatologist. I have a spot that should be checked out. Hoping it's just an age spot but we'll see what the doc has to say about it. Stay cool and enjoy your day, Margaret. Always good to see you!

Hi Margaret. I am 73, and drive to my local shopping mall. There are 3 different supermarkets there, and a whole range of shops. Too many clothing stores in my opinion. Twice a week I meet with friends there for breakfast. Over my lifetime I have lived in other states of Australia, but I always come back to the family home, which now belongs to my son. Margaret, love hearings your talks, you are so flexible. That is such a blessing to be able to walk, bend and cross ones legs in the seated position, I too don't like air conditioning either, but do have two big fans were I work and where I sleep. But do have two window air conditioners if the weather becomes extremely unbearable. About your Aloe Vera, Aside from placing the Alloe Vera gel on a wound, you can eat them, make smooches with the gel , They are good for our health, good for the health of our eyes as well. Wasn’t that many years ago that I could climb up on counters! Arthritis & a stroke happened - now I have a 1-step, 2-step and a 3-step stepladders to help me reach things & one of those hook poles (I’m sure that is not what it’s called, but oh well!). Short, old girl solutions!

My local library hosts a plant swap 2x a year. great way to sent plants out for adoption, and also to pick up something new. when my aloe plants dry out (no juice when you break off a tip), I ditch them.

I use to do that back in the day but at 76 i've gotta use a step stool. I think you mentioned that the beautiful plant in your salon was a christmas cactus. I've never seen one so full and healthy. Never known of one that blooms multiple times each year. That's amazing. What's the secret?

When it was home it loved the north facing window. At the salon there full light but diffused by the 10 foot walkway roof. We water it once a week.

Be careful working in heat. When your body gets over heated, it can be difficult to bring your body temperature down especially at your age, that’s what causes heat stroke or death, so in times like this, you may want to turn on your air conditioner. Heat exhaustion can creep up without any warning. Be safe!

I live in Vancouver British Columbia and we have a PC Superstore that I simply order my groceries/ home needs on line and choose the date and time I want to pick up. It is fast .. convenient.. and easy to do. Started when my kids were little and never looked back. Not recommend for those who are picky.

I've been meaning to tell you I have an aussiedoodle very active breed of dog. We are outside constantly. My granddaughter bought me this thing to wear around my neck it looks like headphones wrapped around my neck n it blows cool air. It's great no batteries I just charge it. Anyway I wear it outside in the heat and humidity. It wouldn't work for like a construction worker but for you doing yard work it'd be perfect.

I'm worn out by simply watching you work, that is my excuse for not getting up off my bum & getting something done around here today.Not entirely true, I like keeping a neat house & doing my own cleaning that way I don't have to check to make sure it is done properly. I recently turned 80 My daughters have long wanted me to hire someone to do my cleaning, but why when I can do it myself. They are wonderful, thoughtful daughters, but they just don't understand how I could enjoy doing it myself. Good for you, just keep doing it for as long as you are able & enjoy. I envy your ability make household repairs. I would never imagine solutions. Enjoy your "retirement yesrs" Margaret, & keep up the entertaining videos. I don't miss a single one.

i have a farmers market about a mile and a half from my home but i grocery shop at the commissary on a Air Force base so i have to drive to it to go thru security and show my military id to get thru the front gate but i love going shopping on base we have a international food isle that i buy from and at Christmas our commissary stocks up and sells tons of german cookies and chocolates and different foods . if u live on base now they deliver to ur base housing which i wish i had that 25 years ago 😂 when hubby was deployed all the time .

I know what you mean about little jobs done. I am 84 with a bad back and yesterday cleaned out my refrigerator and lazy susan cabinet. Oh my gosh could not believe how many things I found that were expired. I also scrubbed both. The satisfaction I felt after was amazing…lol

AloeVera usually does well in the bathroom. Or anywhere out of the way where it is bright. Good to have for burns, facial sunburn, skin tightener for your face, etc.

Hi Margaret I’m glad you didn’t get rid of the aloe Vera. I remember the humidity growing up in New York. I now live in Los Angeles definitely not the country !!! Good Morning Margaret, oh, you should plant your Aloe Vera out with your other greenery in your garden area. It will grow so much bigger( or should) 🤷🏼‍♀️ it will be pretty out there for sure. And be out of your way. Lol. I’m just like you, everything’s got to be tidy,and clean. I’m on the outskirts of town, so I can’t walk to anything except for a gas station, and won’t do that. Enjoy you videos..but please be careful in that heat. You don’t realize you’re in trouble until it’s too late. I exercise early.. but in the bad heat here in CA I have had some moments when I think “oh-oh!”😬 if it gets above a certain temp I call it off and do more reasonable things like declutter a cabinet. Why did you dump the pan of dirt on the boards instead of the lawn? Lol!! I swear you are so fast ..I get it! When I lived in NY I was in a constant rush. Now I go slower and think more clearly…and things get done more efficiently. I was washing off parts to a fan outside with the hose and wondered why you did that in the sink? Another rush rush? When you retire perhaps you will feel more calm and call your channel “Margaret being fabulous”😂😍

For a little more tightening leverage on the strap, use a short piece of pipe or the end of broom handle or tool but use it sparingly because applying too much leverage could damage the gears. Just do it by feel, don't force it.

Maybe on the "bad" end of the planter, dig the dirt/rock away (or remove the dirt) from the separated end to reduce pressure, and then pray that you can ratchet it down before the dirt shifts back. Or, use your foot to push the ratchet instead of using you arm strength. Please don't pull a quad muscle. Orrrr...can you screw another piece of wood along side the vertical piece that you're trying to move, then screw the added piece into the horizontal frame. I know what I'm trying to say....just having a hard time articulating it!!
