The principal rebuked me for having hit John." My editor sent me an e-mail reprehending me on the weak story I had written...he wanted a scoop." " I sent Bob a note reprimanding him for his bad behaviour at the office toward the girls. It was unacceptable." (Okay, sir?) I must say this lesson is absolutely marvelous. You are a great teacher. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for this video! Whenever I ask native speakers about the differences in meaning between similar words, more often than not they will just reply that those are synonyms. That’s not useful at all. :( It’s by understanding the differences in register and nuances that we non-native speakers can truly grasp the true meaning and correct usage of these synonyms. I’m so glad I found your channel!

Tom's failure to meet his sales target was initially met with small *reproaches* from the team leader. Being a lenient man, he let it slide, hoping Tom would cope up with time, as he was still just a beginner. But when he noticed no improvement, in his performance even after a month, he began to *rebuke* him openly before his team mates. Openly criticising his inability to rake up his sales numbers. But the final straw, which broke the camel's back was when he caught Tom dosing off in his cubicle, during work hours. The team leader didn't say anything, he just stormed off angrily and within a few days Tom received a letter from the company, *reprimanding* his poor work ethics and performance. I hope this is correct sir. If there are any corrections please do let me know. Thanks in advance ❤

Considering how difficult it is to remember vocabulary of these types, why not throw in a weekly test to help students review what they've learned thus far? How about a weekly review session?
