Kevin, you're saving lives. I drank daily from age 14 until January of this year- over 5 decades. Most of the time, I kept it "moderated", thinking I was in control. But over the years, I began noticing bad health effects. Since quitting, I am experiencing many of the benefits you've mentioned. Your almost daily videos are inspirational; they help keep me off this poison that I used to think of as normal.

Just a tip for anyone willing to try. I was a smoker for a big part of my life and I did the Allen Carr easyway seminar 2 years ago and haven't smoked since. A month ago I bit the bullet and read his book Easyway to control alcohol. I haven't had a drink since and I don't even think about it. It may not work for everyone but everything is worth a try if it can help you get out of this trap.

I’m pushing 68 and trying to adjust my attitudes and create new habits to take me away from drinking ( hand sanitizer).. The few photos our family have of Opa show him standing in a position that my father myself and my brother present to this day,I’m sure if I could meet him I would see remarkable similarities a hundred years later,I have adopted the same attitudes passed down.Our culture has us trained,my friends can not understand why I refused a drink at lunch yesterday..We are a product of our environment,unfortunately malleable and gullible.Thanks again for the video Kevin.

Didn’t make it past the liquor store on the way out of the door. Not their fault. I wasn’t ready to be sober. I am now though. I went to 45 Days of Treatment non 12 step that was exclusively made for Fire Fighters. I have 46 days. Ill be incorporating your program into my recovery along with AA and SMART Recovery. The minute the booze goes in your ability to function responsibly is diminished and decreases the more you consume. "Drink responsibly" is like saying "speed slowly" or "scream quietly". It really bothers me how BA are allowed to use public platforms to keep lieing about their products when tobacco advertising is mostly banned, especially when marketed around athletics and naming sports stadiums. Such a devious way to target the young. Hell there's a MLB team named "Brewers".

I started drinking whiskey at 62-years old (four-years ago) after retiring to help me sleep. I quit for 6-weeks 4-times a year to try to prove I'm not an alcoholic. I started because my wife has health issues and her long-term survival in very much in question. I know it's bad for my health, but it keeps me from putting a bullet in my head. I'll quit soon after my wife passes and move to the ranch in the middle of nowhere Idaho and let life take its toll.

Success in what sense? There's a lot of definitions out there. It's something I cover a lot in the program, for instance, but it's from the perspective of many different areas.... A very broad topic :)
@fatherburning358 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes yes of course. It's the feeling you've succeeded, no matter how trivial to others it may seem. My apologies I haven't gone back to your older videos, which would be sensible to do before asking questions with as you say a broad meaning. I've received great news today regarding my present liver and kidney function. My GP said I should be proud of myself, I replied that I was. That felt like I had succeeded, the recovery of good liver function. I did not have a big head about it though as I have when I was a drinker. It's a strange sensation being deeply satisfied with one's decisions and positive consequences. I'm bewildered, I didn't know life could be so calm when you take away the 'medicine' poison, I truly didn't. Anyway, I feel silly for speaking of my naivety. Appreciate your response. Onwards and upwards. Better start my research of your older content kind sir 🤦👍😁

I personally believe that the slogan of "Drinking Responsibly"(brought to you by Big Alcohol) is dangerous. I think it tells drivers especially that one or two drinks are okay. It also conveys a message that alcohol is safe if you know how to use it. Science has proven that no amount is safe for your body ...so the message is very irresponsible!!
@HabitsV2 Жыл бұрын
Of course. That's the irony of it. BA know that once they have you at one drink, you're more likely to have two. Once you have two you're more likely to have three... then it's a race to the bottom. They don't give a flying fk about your responsibility, your health, or how many people in your family are in misery. They only care about one thing: the contents of your wallet.

The amount of alcohol in fragrances that could potentially be absorbed through your skin is extremely small, and the liver wouldn't process it in the same way it does with ingested alcohol.
