Inshore lizardfish are an estuarine species of fish that gets to a little over a foot long on average. They live near the bottom and typically, as their name suggests, stick around near the shore.

Fascinating stuff! As ALWAYS!! I just know you'd be PERFECT for my question (a nurse friend's Q, as it turns out)... She was telling us about fishing during her honeymoon in the Bahamas... How their guides got SO excited; completely "FREAKED OUT" I guess, when she hooked this really beautiful green fish with all kinds of GORGEOUS markings and the green, especially, DEFIED description..." (By now I'M 'hooked' on the story, lol!) She went on to tell us how the guides very quickly & EXCITEDLY ran to her (nearly knocking hubby over, lol) BEGGING to let THEM reel it in, even tho she'd done all the others by herself (the shark, mackerel, etc). So once THE mystery fish was in the boat, they literally "stowed it" separate from the other catch - almost hidden away (seeming SO secretive) she said! Complete with not saying another word TO the couple. She thought she overheard enuff to assume it had value. Myself? I suggested perhaps {illegally} so! I dunno. But I suspect YOU have opinions and/or educated guesses? For me (and my bff) I think we're hoping the fish, itself has an interesting 'tail' other than 'catching' a good price. When the puns come out it's time to say: The End (fin)ally!!
