I love your channel. I saw you use the jump start thermostat. I use it to. I was wondering if you have had any problems with it. I have had a few but not too noticeable.

Does this work for light bulb heating?

On dimming /pulse yes. Use a herpstat

So the proportional is like an automatic dimmer.
@jeffb1118803 жыл бұрын
Yep regulated and consistent.....regular doing control require you to dial it in just right qnd you have too keep your eye on the set temps regularly...with a non propportional, it will do it on its own. By constricting the amount wattage going to the heat source.
@Deefizzymakesmesmile6 жыл бұрын
do i have to turn the heating pad back on when the non porportional thermostat turns off or does it turn it on and off by itself?
@jeffb1118803 жыл бұрын
The non propportional will turn off and back on . The issue sis it won't shut off until it hits over the settemo by 4 degrees. And won't turn back on unless it cools down past 4 degrees. This may vary from each thermostat. Thats why propportional is better Never turns off. Just constricts the amount of power coming thru the system. To the heat element.

I bought one of the hydrofarm thermostats for an incubator. I'm having trouble with major temp fluctuations. I have the temp set at 85. It will cut the incubator off at 85 but the temp will rise to around 89 and then drop to about 82 before turning the incubator back on. Is that normal? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for a reply. Great video, also.
@jeffb1118803 жыл бұрын
That why non propportional is bad. Because it won't shut off or turn off until it reacs over set temp or below set temp...can be usually 4 degrees over or under before it turns on and off. Q proportional will constrict the flow of watts and keep the heat on and stable. Also herpstat have a safety fail switch and will shit off power in event of shorting or other issues. The hepstatw will shut off power.

*PLEASE RESPOND* So am I supposed to tape it to the inside bottom of the tank?And if so,if Im unsing reptile carpet,do I tape it to the carpet or to the glass?
@OnlineGeckos7 жыл бұрын
Yes the probe goes inside the tank, you tape it to the bottom of inside of the tank where the warm spot is. It doesn't matter if you use repti carpet, tiles, or paper towels, the probe has to be inside the tank on top of the substrate. This way the thermostat can monitor how hot belly heating is for your geckos.

will that theremostat thats for 30 bucks work on a snake rack using heat tape

Can you use extension cords in the thermostats to plug multiple heat mats into them?
@OnlineGeckos10 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, but make sure they are the same voltage (same size heating pads).
@jeffb1118803 жыл бұрын
All the heat tape connected to the one tstat has to be the same wattage qnd size tape...otherwise you won't get proper heat source reading and regulation.
@bayeparker81917 жыл бұрын
is there anyway u could hook up one thermostat to more than one heating tape
@jeffb1118803 жыл бұрын
Yes...but all your heat tape has to be same size and same wattage. Other wise your fluctuate temo between each different size and wattage and can cause fire. Or burn the animals
@Mrpatoshoes8 жыл бұрын
are pulse proportional the same as proportional
@jeffb1118803 жыл бұрын
Pulse is use on heat emitters in the u.k they call it dimming. Doesn't matter as long as your tstat is proportional...dimming pulse is usually something used on heat lamps etc.

Terrible video. No demo of how it actually works and a whole lot of umms.....rehearse then shoot. People have speech impediments, no need to bash them for that. No one is perfect, but geez, if you’re going to make an informative video, atlease be clear, concise and provide a demo!
