Thank you for posting, your attitude is admired. I learnt this at school (1953-64), we sang it often, it was almost like a second national anthem after "Die Stem"

The South Africans took what the British have left us and improved on it. We did not burn the British flag, or toppled British statues. Even though innocent women and children was murdered by the British in the concentration camps. We appreciated the roads and the railways, used it and made it better. Imagine if the people who came after us had the same vision and restraint.

Afrikaners are also natives. They have been in Southern Africa before Mandela's people. Also, the Afrikaners descend from the most native of native South Africans: the Khoisan. Not as much as the Coloureds. But they certainly are related to the Khoisan.
@kinkajou777 Жыл бұрын
@@matejamartin2199 South Africa Foreign Minister Pik Botha did right by campaigning to free Mandela. Mr. Botha knew that apartheid was in crisis. Even State President P.W. Botha met with the incarcerated Nelson Mandela. F.W. de Clerk did right by freeing Mandela. Mandela did right by saying, “Let’s reconcile.” Clearly, State President Botha, Foreign Minister Botha, and Foreign Minister Botha learned from Rhodesia’s mistakes. By the way, you are talking to a big supporter of Rhodesia. The foresight of the mentioned great South African leader is perhaps why Whites can still live in South Africa today. We need to take White Parliamentarians John Steenhuisen (DA) and Peter Groenewald (FF) into account. The FF is a right wing party that increased by 2.38%. That resulted in the FF having 10 seats on the South African Parliament.
@kinkajou777 Жыл бұрын
@@dutchafrikaner1204 You make excellent points about the Khoisans and Afrikaners. They Khoisans are also known as the Basarwas. You are right about the Basarwas being an ancient people. Today their population in South Africa is 10,000. It says so in Wikipedia. We also need to understand that many of the South African Whites are biracial.
