Republic P-47 Razorback "Bonnie" making a low level banking pass at EAA AirVenture 2023

The star of the 2023 EAA AirVenture show at Oshkosh making a low level pass over show center. This Republic P-47 Razorback has been meticulously restored and painted as "Bonnie". The P-47 served in the Pacific theater of operations during WW2. It is one of the few flying P-47's in the world.

While I had seen P-47's fly at airshows as a kid, I haven't seen one as an adult that can really appreciate the aircraft. I was totally blown away by this P-47 demonstration at Oshkosh. Not only is the P-47 a work of art, but it can put on one of the best warbird flight demonstrations I have ever seen. The sound too was also incredible in person. This is one of the few and possibly the only P-47 flying with an operational turbo-supercharger. All the ones that I know of don't use the turbo-supercharger and just exit the exhaust through the wastegates.

Aviators...please keep these old restored warbirds running and flying. How else can we continue to hear the wonderful sounds of a piston driven fighter aircraft? Bravissimo!!!

Agree! While I have seen P-47's in the past, this was the first time seeing one with a fully operational supercharger. The sound was incredible!

Seen it personally on Friday at the EAA. First time seeing a P47 there. The plane is a beast.

I have seen a number of P-47's in the past, but haven't seen one this nice nor one fly in a very long time! The restoration was incredible. I took a lot of still pictures of it both on display and in the air.

I was very impressed by how quickly it could roll and at the altitude he was doing it at. By far one of the most impressive warbird demonstrations I have ever seen.
