Hey everyone!
On my most recent trip down to Salem, I stayed in my old neighborhood on trash day once again - and this time tracked down some trucks! After grabbing a few clips of a newer 520 DP on carted recycling, I headed over toward Morningside Elementary on the Thursday route in hopes of spotting a STARR. However, just as one drove past, this truck turned into a dead end I'd just walked down - so I hurried back to see about filming. Right away I got the green light to record, and from there I was excited to follow along for the rest of this guy's route!
We start off with some tight-access commingled recycling, dumped via either the left side tipper or the right-hand side M/A arm. Cool to see the tipper in action since it's not used very often. Then we make our way over to a larger residential grid with quite a few neat tubs used for glass - my favorite being the old school "Loren's - Pickup on Recycling" red crate originally used for manual recycle, and the baby blue Allied Waste tub is super fresh looking as well! Finally, we end over in the area that @northwestgarbagetrucks filmed in 7 years ago in 2017, right around the time I moved out of Salem - in fact, many of the exact same spots that Isaac filmed at are featured in this video! See if you can find 'em and comment the time stamp(s)!!
HUGE thank you goes out to the fantastic driver James, for allowing me to record, letting me know where he was headed next, and being a professional, friendly guy! It's been a goal of mine to record on these streets from my childhood for years now, even better that it happened to be Salem's unique glass collection - and a modern day parallel to Isaac's videos, just 7 years later with a new truck and driver!
Thank you for watching - ENJOY the video!
