It's something that MIGHT work to get into the presidency, but won't work with the rest of the government. Until he shows he can sway politicians, I've got no faith in his abilities. I don't trust politicians, but the government checks and balances means you have to work with them.

Rick James Well he's not an asshole, he's actually a nice guy to normal people, he just says he's a devastating counter puncher. He only beat up on Bush because Bush spent over 70million in negative adds against Trump alone. Trump spent only 3million against Cruz. And as a multibillionaire he's negotiated with and swayed politicians all his life. And he's always got his way in the business world. He has fought in the cutthroat trenches of New York real estate and they all say "Don't take on Trump you'll loose. He's a master of swaying and leveraging people to his will. If you read the Art of the Deal you'd be sold. They say when you are actually in front of him hearing him talk it's almost impossible to not be swayed by him. He's got a gift. A presence. That's a guy we need in the White House. And carrying the aura of "President" he'll get anyone to do whatever the hell he wants believe me.

Fierysaint1 I can't say what he's like in front of normal people. I can only judge him by how he presents himself publicly, and publicly he's an asshole. He's rude, he lies to suit his needs (as all politicians do), and he's only slightly better than Cruz at playing well with others. I don't doubt his ability to negotiate as a businessman, but as a politician it's different. There have already been strong reactions against Trump in the Republican senior leadership, let alone on the Democrat side. If he can't bring the Republicans in Washington on his side, he'll never get anything done. He still has time to sway them, but it's not looking good. Even if he did sway some of the leadership, I still wouldn't vote for him. He seems like the guy to start World War III and he avoids specifics about his plans like the plague. The wall won't be free, radicals will use the ban on Muslims to gain members, and he has no history with America's greatest threat: Putin. Just curious though, besides his presence, why do you want to vote for him? What issues swayed you? Why do you think he's going to do what's best for you?

My husband is a proud Indian immigrant who was willing to sacrifice whatever he had to sacrifice in order to “do things the right way.” For the first 3 years of our marriage, we shared one car, a very small studio apartment, and we lived paycheck to paycheck bc of how expensive the green card process was. Meanwhile, my husband was surrounded by friends who were living in expensive homes and driving luxury vehicles bc they were here illegally without paying taxes or putting their money toward making their status legal. I was w my husband every step of the way for his green card-we waited in line, we paid the lawyers, we paid the govt fees, we spent hours on the paperwork, we sat for the interviews, and we withstood the intrusion into our lives. People who come here illegally and are then given amnesty - it’s a slap in the face to ppl like my husband who damn near went broke in the name of doing things the right way. A simple fine is no where near as difficult, as time consuming, or as expensive as what my husband and I went through.

I agree that amnesty is a slap in the face. I'm in the process of immigrating legally but it's an expensive, long and bureaucratic nightmare. Republicans always say they want legal immigration but they always advocate for policies that will make it harder. Republicans to me seem to hate immigration entirely both legal and otherwise even if it benefits the country economically( which it does ).

I would not agree to pay the wall through taxes and regulations, but I would agree to strengthen our immigration policies and to contain the migrant caravans. In a certain way, we paid for the wall, and the president Trump saw the importance of having control in the Mexican southern border. We used the new troops, it was necessary, however Mexico needs stronger immigration laws, we received all of the immigrants and our economy is far worst that the US, plus we have a corrupt system. Also, Amlo is a terrible president, but at least he was controlled by Trump, now with Biden, everything is worst for my country. Yes, I think Trump was one of the best presidents for you and even for my people.

As an Asian whose views are extremely Republican (I would've voted for Trump if I were an US citizen.) I understand why a lot of Republicans want to cap immigration from non-white countries, because most non-white immigrants tend to support democrat party. Remember that California used to be a Republican State until the 80's, when it became largely non-White. Now even I am concerned that Texas, too, turns democrat.
