Republican Rep. Mike Johnson elected as new speaker of the House

Mike Johnson (R-LA) becomes the 56th speaker of the House, succeeding Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), after garnering enough votes to clinch the role. He secured the job on Wednesday with 220 votes.
The House has been without a speaker for three weeks after Kevin McCarthy was ousted on Oct. 4 by fellow Republican Matt Gaetz.
Final tally:
Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA): 220 votes
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY): 209 votes
4 members were absent or did not vote

I don’t know this man but I know the republicans in general, not very honorable performance all the time. I hope this will be a restart, and yes, a strong America is a beacon of freedom in a world that desperately needs it. A strong America needs leader presidents, not subordinates to dictatorships and barbarism. Internal issues are not harder than republicans and democrats can solve them together - if they want to.
