Pity that we are still continuing with these old crammped ICVs. Replacement of these old vehicles with new FICVs is the need of the hour. Why dont we learn from small countries like Poland & Slovakia from earstwhile eastern block who were using these BMPs from USSR have developed their own new FICVs either from scratch or from existing BMP chassis. Even Czech Republic is replacing old BMPs with new FICVs. India’s new FICV project involving private players like L&T & Tata Power SED shoipd be expedited without further delay. Why doesnt OFB Medak innovate ad design a futuristic ICV from scratch. They have enough experience by now. Their Abhay FICV prototype is pathetic and nowhere close to being furturistic.

This is bmp 2 it came out in 1981 same is the case with Bradley m2 also came in 1981 . Plus now we use bmp 2m with modern anti tank missiles,thermal imaging etc. So for 10 to 20 yrs till five comes bmp 2m is good. Hopefully tata makes the five by that time.

Indian Army top brasses are corrupt and prefer international off the shelf equipment over India produced ones. Mostly because they get a cut in these international deals. Even Indian Airforce has the same problem. They took so long to place orders for The Tejas. Indian navy though is producing some awesome ships.
