A tip: When chasing threads or cutting threads in something that needs to be lubed, fill the tap flutes with grease to catch the metal chips so they don't contaminate the area requiring grease for lubrication.

Excited to watch this build. Especially looking forward to the hydraulic install. I don't have factory accessory hydraulics up to my loader, so when I do something like run my hydraulic auger, etc, I have a 20' set of hoses I have to plug into the back and temporarily hang them along the side and up to the loader.
@TKCL Жыл бұрын
I might do something similar to the rear.

If branches are a problem for the radiator just tack in some expanded metal in the openings... :-) @21:17

Casey, nice grapple build. I have a JD 4066R and bought a Frontier grapple designed for it. The grapple doesn't close all the way. So, when I pick up logs under 14" diameter, it doesn't clamp the log tight. I wanted to buck firewood with it, but I can't because it doesn't hold the log firm. I plan to redesign the hydraulic cylinders so that it will close further and hold smaller diameter logs.
@TKCL Жыл бұрын
That's wild, it absolutely should close all the way.

Another great video. I know you love your beautiful dog a lot. At the start of the video, he was watching you weld. Won't it hurt his eyesight, like it would damage your eyes without your shield? Just a thought. He loves being with you, no matter what you are doing.

That was plasma cutting and the main flame was going out of the backside of the grapple, he couldn't see it from where he was.
@5150cash Жыл бұрын
Well that was awesome of KC 👍🏽.... But I think your going to need a bigger tractor 🚜 lol. That grapple looks like it was built for a dozer 🤷🏽♂️.... Worse comes to worse plant the grapple in the ground and you can tie down the house and the barn 🤔🤔🤔

Wooo Hooo got a grapple. Yup over built is what you do. Ha ha. The only thing I would consider is adding weep holes in the square tubing you welded in. If it's a closed weld condensation will happen which will lead to rust. Just a small hole will allow venting. That thing would be heavy duty even on a bulldozer. PS you could always add lighting holes on those massive jaw teeth for weight. The plasma cutter is worth its weight in gold.
