Here on my channel, I am renovating a 250 year old stone cottage on my property in Normandy, France. By using traditional, low-waste and off-grid methods, I'm aiming to keep the charm and character of this old building, and turn it into a furnished, finished home for family whilst keeping environmental impact as low as possible. There will also be content on living in France, visiting beautiful rural places, hunting for antiques, gardening and more! Hit subscribe if you would like to keep up with my journey, and hit the notification bell to be alerted when we go LIVE where we have a first viewing of the video as it is published with a live chat so I can answer all your questions! See you in Sean's World.

Where I live, if a tracked vehicle has to go across driveway’s, roads or the like. They carry tires to lay on the ground to drive and over them, to protect the roads. Works real well.

Love seeing the buds on the trees and your green grass. Enjoy those peaches in a couple years from now when the tree is bigger. Peach cobbler, peach pie, peach ice cream…so many possibilities. Better yet stand at the kitchen sink and let the peach juice drip down your chin!

I am surprised you can dig the ground, especially since it is technically winter yet. Sean, we always wrap the base of the peach trees to keep bunnies away from the bark. It is like white plastic with holes in it to breathe and helps with bugs.

Sean! Almonds demand a lot of water, so judging from your posts, the almond will prosper with all the water and rain! One way or the other, Spring, with all the blossoms, will be a welcome and lovely experience. Even though you are at a much higher latitude than here in New Jersey, I am always aware of how much warmer it seems to be in Normandy. This Winter has been absolutely bizarre here. We have been having flooding rains, bitter cold, and a little bit of snow, so far. It is clear that we are having climate change, for sure.

It must feel great to be planting already. I love those snowballs. Early Easter this year, so watch out for those bunnies on your trees. That rendering is perfection. Too bad about the road. Growing up in Labrador, there was lots of shoveling. I would just get finished, then the plow would come with the side blade and plow everything back in the driveway. If I hear them come I would stand in the driveway so they had to lift the blade. After a while, I noticed they just lifted the blade every time afterwards.❤

Wow, Sean, the grass is so green on your property and even a tree with buds!! There is still snow cover in my "neck of the woods." And with nighttime temperatures around -3.3º C and daytime temperatures hovering slightly higher than 0º C, it will be quite a while before the snow and ice moderate. There was a peach tree in the yard years ago but unfortunately one very harsh winter destroyed it. Buying "fresh" peaches in the supermarkets here is dicey. They are picked and shipped so "green" that attempts to let them ripen end in rot. This is true of many fruits which are sourced internationally. Fortunately, there is a farmers' market in summer where tree ripened peaches are sold in season. Chuck in Northern New England

A Lot of trees and bushes are best planted late fall because the rains will keep them well water so your roots will developed to support the plant when the rain occurs less often. Of course the first few years is when you need to pay attention to those young plants. After that you don't need so much care, just pruning at the appropriate time. I'm sure Sean knows this having had a garden over the years.😊

Great video Sean, but is that really the way to take a lovely tree down. Is that how all the French do it? What a mess of your drive too, he just went over it I would be so angry. I cant believe it. I know you get the odd bit of mud on the road here. I hope he repairs it or compensate you. You even had to clear it up too.A difficult job to do trying to fill in the space from the bricks to the purlins, I have made a mezzanine room in my old school house and in the end I filled it with a little expanding foam and put a piece of wood 5 x 1 inch to make a nice false beam look it worked well in the end, like me the latter of being tired this winter.

Question,Sean... Do either of your new trees ( almond or peach ( require you to have another tree of a dufferent variety to be planted along side of it? Sweet cherry and a sour cherry or Bartlett pear and a Bosc pear; for example. You are giving me a bad cade of "garden envy". It looks like Spring there and gere in Atlantic Canada we are just entering the deep ☃️❄️ stage. We are lucky if we don't have snow in May...lol,but not joking.
