Repurposing an OLD obsolete Multi FX | Digitech RP360

Obsolete! That's the hub of my pedalboard man. 😋 The pedal has an internal effect loop function to arrange the effects before or after in the chain. while a bit limited compared to some newer offerings, the quality of effects on this pedal hits well above its weight, it sounds as good or even better that the Boss GT 1000

The digitech has a built in fx loop function? Please explain man... As far as I'm aware it only has 1 signal chain that can either go in front or behind your amp, but not both since there's no physical inputs for an fx loop. Maybe you meant if you're using the built in amps / cabinets I'm guessing... Which I don't use. I use my physical amp for all my tones...

@@KaddysJamKave Well, essentially that's what a loop does, it allows you to put effects before of after the amplifier's pre amp section, it's not explained this way in its manual, but in the RP360's chain, any effect placed in front the amp icon is basically in front the preamp section and anything placed after is post.

Actually I did, just didn't have time to respond fully. With regard to using an external amp, I know it's possible to run the unit through your amp's effect loop, however the dirt pedals won't sound the same. Maybe if the input is split and one half of the stereo output is sent through the front of the amp it might work. I've never tried that, I think I will today.

@@joschelei262 I've already got it running through the fx loop of my amp and it serves it's purpose... I just have to use other pedals out the front which is all good. Nar you can't split the signal on this thing like you can with more modern and more expensive fx units.

Yeah, it's old and obsolete, but I love it. I use it for recording. It plugs straight into my laptop via USB and makes a perfect interface for my DAW with direct monitoring so I can't hear any latency at all. The computer interface (Nexus) may be a little dated, but I have yet to find one I like better. It's just beautiful - I'm old school and it looks just like the real pedals. Very simple and straightforward, and with a little tweaking produces great sounds.

The RP360XP still has many fans, and increasingly are being used with IR pedals for really good tones. Long live the 360!

With the great Nexus software, rhe RP360XP is still a favorite of many, esp with an IR loader. Great bang for the buck even today.

I now tried it with a synth. It's really nice for that purpose, really big sound with the modulation effects.

Hi sir, i encounter problem with my RP360XP , when I open the unit the display says "RELEASE KEY FOR MIDI MODE". and I cant use it
