It's funny seeing how on the original game it's not tails dying. It's actually someone In the vessel of tails named Alan. Same with knuckles and eggman. Knuckles is Dave and eggman is Paul. However, some sonic exe games have it as the real tails dying but in the original and remake, it's a person who is possessing tails called Alan.

Sunshine exe is a game, the plot that takes place in a copy of the game about sonic, Eggman constantly loses to the hedgehog after which he finds a mirror, something lived inside the mirror and this something offered a deal to Eggman, he kills sonic and Eggman gives his soul, Eggman agreed, after which the entity gets out of the mirror and goes to Tails, captures him and goes to sonic, he captures sonic and make apocalypse, not forget break egg.
