OP should've said, Sorry unless it is a rare situation where I'm the only person in the world that can do this surgery They really don't want relatives working on relatives. There are other Dr.s who can do the work. That way I can support the family and be a part of the family but I am not the person who did the surgery that you have to worry about if anything goes wrong because there's always that opportunity that chance one in a million that he has an allergic reaction to something or his body isn't strong enough and they don't really want us working on relatives especially not my brother-in-law sister-in-law or even my own wife unless it's an extreme emergency. He must have really hated this BIL MIL combo so much that he didn't care what he said that would one affect his relationship with his wife and the rest of the family. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut and used diplomacy.
