I'm surprised Ember to Inferno isn't talked about more. I avoided this album since everybody kept saying Ascendancy and Shogun were amazing (which of course they are). But after I gave the whole album a shot, I'm absolutely in love with it. Very underrated album, imo

@@fmjay11 Matt was 17 and the band had damn near nothing at the time of the album's release. So yes the original recordings sound like they were done with a potato. Writing wise the album is brilliant for a debut. Also, a bit of Ascendancy was written around the same time as Ember to Inferno such as Dying In Your Arms, A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation, and Like Light to the Flies, which also just happen to be three of the four singles and the biggest hits from the album.

@@davidowen28 yep, the video for Like light to the flies actually uses the recording they did during the Ember days. You can definitely hear a big difference in the vocals from the album version. They sound like the Ember vocals rather than the Ascendancy vocals. It's cool to hear imo.
