Had to come back to this video since I was thinking of doing this to my Veloster as well but I might pass on it once more and instead consider some other mods to focus on first.

For $20, it's not such a hard of expensive mod to do. However, their are full "hot pipe" mods that replace both this along with the whole rubber hose.... or if you plan on going FMIC real soon, you can skip it as that will replace this anyway.

If you do an intercooler upgrade, this will be replace anyway with a new hot pipe so you should not buy this. This is only decent until you do an inter cooler upgrade or if you plan to stay mostly stock

From the images ive seen of the underside, it does not seem so, however, it's possible that they redesigned this part to make it look more flush and less obvious.

How wide is the diameter of the pipe? Might just make my own pipe

Oh man, I apologize but i'm not sure. You can just remove the resonator and measure it that way but I advise to make sure that lip is on both sides of the pipe. If you create your own and its a solid pipe with no lips you run the risk of having the pipe uncoupling under boost causing you to lose massive power and probably throw a CEL code.

i got a 2016 rally edition. Just did this the other day & i think it made my car slower. what could've i done wrong? all i can think of doing is resetting the ecu lol

That's odd. I won't lie, it doesn't make any MAJOR difference in boost or power. It just helps with the possibility of heat getting soaked up and providing hot air as opposed to the coolest air possible. Make sure the clamps are tight and not leaking boost. Also make sure the hoses attached to this don't have cuts that could leak boost.

Yeah I guess it was just a little loose considering my hose already popped off on the second day 😂 I tightened the clamps more and I should be fine 👌 I guess my car just feels a tad bit slower in lower rpms (could be the slight loss of torque?) but when I gas it, I noticed my car actually is a little faster (barely but there is a very small increase) my car sounds the same for the most part but I can tell the tone is a little deeper (again, barely) this is my first mod and can't wait for many more to come 😈

@@mrcbaradi My car is not yet tuned but I also never got an issue with my intake. Have you tried unplugging the battery to have your ECU "reset" to any new mods you may have added?

@@mrcbaradi The only thing I can think of is that it's leaking boost from somewhere. I wouldn't think the intake itself to be an issue since the only "boost" related hose connected to that is the bypass hose for recirculation. Have you checked the hose to your BOV or the hoses to the mac solenoid?

Chayness, I love your videos as I am about to buy my first car being a 2013 Veloster turbo, but just a piece of constructive criticism. You do a lot of talking not really showing us anything but your face, if you could incorporate your talking into showing us some of the work, I feel like the video would flow more smoothly

Most of the mods I do installs on I show the process. The harder stuff I dont focus on because I dont want to be held liable for someones wrong doing (like in the lowering spring video where its a bit risky and requires special tools.). That and if I did everything super detailed the videos would be waaaaay too long lol I get what you're saying but like this mod, 6 minutes is probably too long for such a simple mod to do.

It's nothing major but at $20 to try to prevent hotter air going into the engine it's not terrible. You could do worst with the money. Of course don't do this expecting number increases.
