Proud owner of a customized 2533FX for over a year and everything here is spot on. Alex & Resør were simply pleasures to work with. Delivered to the week on schedule. It's transparent. It's classy. It's fun, yet familiar-feeling to play on. The extras like the power supply, the travel case, etc. all add up to incredible value. 10000% recommend!

fresh proud owner of a 2533, perfect gear, special mention to Aleks and his team for the best customer service. the best qualitry price range in rotary boutique for my point of view when you see how much charge Mastersound and Condesa for a linear PSU and travel IP case. Thanks resor for great job

I ordered the 2533FX (it's big brother) and I'm waiting for it to be built and delivered. 🙂 Just a word of caution. My guess is that these mixers will go up in price due to the increased demand, cost of supplies and to be quite frank for what you are getting with the external PSU and the travel case, they are already underpriced. MasterSounds is charging close to $500 for their PSU and another $300+ for their travel case as add-ons. Do the math..

This review and mixer comes 1 1/2 year to late for me... I almost ordered a 2533FX but at the end I went for the Condesa Lucia with all bells on it...main reason for the Condesa were it's layout (the Lucia just smiles at you the way the eq's and cue knobs are layed out), three band eq, FX send/return per channel and it's lower price (I know, the 2533FX is a 4 channel and the Lucia a two channel mixer but the 2525FX wasn't available yet). At the time I couldn't find any reviews or tests of the Resor but the contact and communication with Aleks was very personal and very friendly, he's a wonderfull and open guy! At the end I am extremely happy with my Lucia, it's known to colour the sound a bit compared to the Resor's clear sound but it sounds amazingly warm which I like a lot. The Lucia's 3 band channel EQ is a major pluspoint compared the the Resors 2 band channel EQ as I use it quite a lot to bring forward (or remove) certain frequencies/instruments when making long blends, the iso's are more a performative tool than a mixing tool and only on the output channel. It would be very lovely to see a side by side comparison vid of the Isonoe, ARS, Mastersounds, Resor and Condesa as these are the five best rotary mixers on the market!

Mojaxx, thanks for mentioning these key points in your video: linear power supply and discrete vs integrated circuits. I'm an owner of a similar rotary mixer (in terms of features) which went the opposite way using an off the shelf power supply and designing a custom IC. I am happy with my purchase but I always wondered what would be pros and cons of other types of power supplies and what's the difference between discrete vs integrated circuits. Would you be able to actually deep dive into it in a video? I would love to learn from you!

Another great one is the regards radius 4 with the linear power supply. Not as great as a ressor but if you can hear the difference you have cursed heating and also it cost 30% less. And now the New upgrade has a 4 way iso that is huge. Well in my eyes. I ordered one already. Next is a ressor 2533fx and a condesa carmen v 4 way. If i die i wont take Cash with me might as well live my life. Cheers.

Thanks for your input Mike :) The thing is i can order the ARS from Juno, no waiting time. I am new to the world of rotary´s, using A&H for the most and now want to upgrade. I am only playing vinyl, so a 2 channel rotary will be perfect i think. Does ARS have a good reputation? But maybe i take your advice and just order a Resor, if you say it sounds so much better than the ARS :) @@mikedubz5576

It's a great mixer for sure! Can you confirm that the power supply is linear? I hear it often, but have seen pictures with just two Meanwell switching AC/DC converters in it. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with that, but it's not linear, so this term is misleading. If it does not have a 220/110V switch, its an SMPS.
@Mojaxx
@Mojaxx 8 ай бұрын
Ok, got clarity from Resor today! “The PSU is now linear. It’s an ongoing change to the PSU. the first versions were made of two stages: SMPS Meanwell modules (external unit) + Linear regulators inside of the mixer. They both give us the same result - the clean voltage to supply the mixer. Long story short: the PSU is linear, wired to the 110 or 220 volts during production based on the destination where the mixers are shipped.” So what I got wrong was that now the power supply is not suitable for different voltages. But it sounds like the company are also hoping to offer the SMPS version as an optional extra for users who need multi-voltage for travel.
@aljoshastanich
@aljoshastanich 8 ай бұрын
I can confirm this. We got the same 2525FX but in black faceplate recently and we took both PSU units. It is just so convenient because we travel a lot with the gear. So the SMPS is just easily plug&play around the world, who’s gonna think of voltage selector switch. The regular one (trafo) sits nicely in the studio. Technically they both work great with their mixer. We couldn’t audit any noticeable difference because of how they designed the whole thing. I personally prefer the lighter one smps :) just less kilos in the bags. BTW the isonoe mixer 420 has the same approach. SMPS front end, then Linear regulators. So, it’s still linear and just look their measurements. Either way you will enjoy your Resor to the fullest just as we do ;) Cheers

You absolutely need to review a Condesa, don’t think it’s fair that you are reviewing all these other Boutique rotaries without reviewing the Condesa which has probably been at it for longer than some of these companies….

Naah, they absolutely don't need to do anything. There are plenty of reviews and videos out there about Condesa mixers (trust me, we don't need another one). The idea here is to give exposure to some of the lesser known and upcoming boutique rotary dj mixers out there

For these smaller brands, it's quite an expensive undertaking to loan me a mixer to review - shipping, import duty, all of that, costs a lot. Especially for those not based in the UK - which is most of them. Big companies have marketing budgets for that, and UK distribution, so it's different for them. All that means I never request mixers from these boutique brands - if they decide for themselves it's worth doing, and approach me, then I'm always delighted to take a look at their products. But the good news is that Mehdi from Condesa thinks he's going to be able to get one of his mixers in my hands when he's on a trip to the UK next year. So there will be a review coming!

Can someone explain to me (I don't own a rotary mixer, hopefully will in the not too far future) how the lack of gain knobs is compensated? What do do you do to match the loundess of tracks?
@Mojaxx
@Mojaxx 8 ай бұрын
Instead of maxing out the channel volume, as you're intended to do on a line fader mixer, you generally turn the channel pots to around 2 o'clock at the most. That's where 'unity gain' is set to. That then gives you a lot of further headroom (between 2 & 5 o'clock) to boost beyond that point for quiter pressings. On other rotaries which do have gain controls, like Mastersounds, you're supposed to max out the channel pots like you would with line faders.

Speaking as a carpenter the woodwork looks underwhelming to my eye - poorly matched panels, gaps in the mitres and chips out of the router/cnc cut inserts. I'm sure it sounds dope and I'm all for small run manufacturing but if that was sent to me it would be going back.
