Nice video! I think you did the right comparison (Maybe a current 900 NX2...). It's hard to get all mixers in house for a comparison. The A&H Xone 96 and the Model 1's would be fair game since they have minimal internal effects and position themselves as Sound Shaping devices more than "Back to Back" style mixers.

Ok, great video, but I think I need to give you some feedback about your comparison. Before I came across your video, someone should have gave you some video feedback for your video section "Pioneer DJM 2000 Nexus vs Model 9100. Now, 9100 sound quality is WAY better than Pioneer DJM 2000 NXS, but in your video, you had the 2000 NXS bass knob to its lowest "cut off" and then demonstrated a comparison on the 9000 "knob at 12'o clock". That is unfair. About the slope part you mention, the 2000 NXS has a line channel slope curve that is adjustable. So, I don't know about your comparison there but that sounds iffy! In addition, the 2000 NXS have isolator knobs, no way near like the Bozak isolator you're showing but it has knobs. Sound quality and smoothness, Model 9000 outshines the Pioneer DJM 2000. Functionality-wise Pioneer DJM 2000 NXS body slams Model 9000. The old 2000 NXS can body slam some of these mixers on the market now. Like you said at the end of your video, it depends on what type of dj you are. Note: Analogy RCA vs SDPIF audio sounds may challenge your conclusion. LOL Just saying. LOL Peace DJ56

Pluses...Straighter paths of circuitry for less chance of noise,crosstalk,distortion,and normally better internal wiring..Smooth transitions for most DJs who create long mixes..Even though i have a mixer with faders,i stay away from mixers with Efx,samplers,.filters..See the thing is,I spin MUSIC already made,so why would i need to mess with the records so frequently?Let the tracks speak for themselves at less 97% of the time ,allowing your skills and track selection make the night,not the gear...Minuses..The price for those DJs who cry about prices,as if someone suggested that DJing would be expensive. It is expensive so if you're not ale to spend a LOT of money,there's always knitting. The ONLY thing I cannot stand and that gets redundant,is standing there tweaking,twisting, and messing with knobs every three records. What else I cannot stand is knob DJs making insane comments about them being 'superior' to DJs with faders on their mixers. If you spin a variety of techniques instead of 99% blending,you juggle,you scratch,and you bring multiple skillsets, then all knobs might not be your first choice.While it is possible to scratch and do light juggles,it's limiting for most DJs with the whole compliment of skills..Would I get a 9100 or a rotary?I would with a fader module,and I believe the company did offer one at some point..Besides,these mixers are better suited for a permanent ,and well tuned system. No,I dont mean loud,and brash,i mean like a Rosner/ Richard Long system, even like David Mancuso's or Sting International,etc..

This gossip, I have both, the OG 1620 and the limited edition. The original 1620 is a bit louder, and probably better in terms of the measured signal-to-noise ratio. Otherwise you can't go wrong with the Le Version. A very well done remake. Stereo depth and stage, sound signature and most importantly, the summation.

This looks like a nice mixer, but I tell you just get a 20 year old high end mixer with no FX like a good vestax, technics or rane for $500 and spend $3k on some boutique FX and you way ahead of a pioneer and look cool for being retro to boot. Built in FX are a total waste after a couple years because they usually have presets that fit with the pop music of the time but don't age well. Find me a really nice tape delay setting on a pioneer system that competes with any $600 tape delay pedal or heck for the price you could get a mixer and a fully refurbished Roland space echo for the price of a pioneer system. I know that's an extreme example. But consider an eventide vs pioneer.

@dalrok Жыл бұрын
I chuckled when I heard about the 'history of rotary mixers'. You got the timeline wrong for about 25 years. The UREI and Bozaks are from the mid (Bozak) and late (Urei) 70s , not the 50s like stated in the video. The 'Paradise Garage' opened April 1976, the 'Studio 54' in '77. That was the time I started to build and use mixing consoles myself, mostly only pots, because good faders were 10 to 20 times more expensive. 'Rotary' pots are the most basic potentiometers (the are all 'rotary') and exist for around 100 years. All mixing consoles from the 30s until end of 50s on had pots because faders weren't yet invented/useable. The first real recording consoles for tape recording in the 50s like the Putnam UA610 had pots only too, yet no EQ & filtering besides a low cut. The first ones with faders instead of pots for the volume control came at the end of the 50s (1958) with e.g. the EMI REDD17 e.g. the big one at Abbey Road Studios. The faders were a big advantage because You have much more control. That's the reason all professional recording and live consoles use faders instead of pots for volume to this day. You have a much more sophisticated EQing and they also have low, high or bandpass filters (aka 'isolators'). These 'isolators' are simply active 3-way crossover filters (used in every 3-way speaker x-over) with high Q at the edges of each band, multiple aux/send/returns etc. I'd never buy something as expensive like this thing. You get a full blown studio console for this price per channel. We use some 'rotary mixers' (Mackie) for headphone mixes, and some high density rack 'rotary' mixers for complex keyboard or effect mixes. The only advantage I see with these simple mixers is, that You have only a few knobs to operate (and they may look cooler when You operate them), if You reproduce (and modify) prerecorded music.

I think it´s for DJs who want really boutique mixer and its own analog presence. The Mixer will look nice overtime compared with "standard ones" , engineering wise, I don't think have superior audio quality than digital ones , you can use a Xone DB4 or Rane mp2015 using coaxial digital and lossless audio file and will be better than vinyl with a lot of mechanical parts and analog stuff. That said most of the modern mixers have isolators on each channel .

@@ravinderteji9059 Digital exceed any analog format in any metric , it’s quantitative and can be proven measured and with math . I love vinyl and analog gear , I own tape and vinyl players , but as engineer I know analog it’s imperfect , mechanical , degrades , and it’s why I love , the color added , and that some music it’s not available digital/streaming. However for clarity , high fidelity , if you can get the digital master in lossless format , can’t be beaten by analog . But won’t have character (color) added , I think it’s why this mixer may be very good, but won’t beat a DJM using coaxial digital .

Yes I'm as n audiophile DJ and have thousands of pounds worth of cables in my set up....I kinda know my stuff when it comes to sound quality...I will take the pepsi challenge any day as well lol

@@s_9878 lololololol...are you ready to be proven wrong. I've just got a mastersounds 4V. I will do a video of my set up. I'm not boasting, I'm just a very keen audiophile and my set up is about 30 grand. Google ATC SCM 20 speakers...let's just say you don't put them on a £200 amp. The first thing I done when I got my Technics Mk5g decks was de-solder all of the cables and I put on Russ Andrew power cables and black rhodium RCA cables and also modded with an isolation platter and different slipmat and made my own record clamps...that's over £300 per deck of modifications. Epic fail fella lol. People do chat rubbish on KZbin, but unfortunately this time fella you've met someone that isn't lolololol. I will do a video tonight and post you the link 😜

@@djdeejdjay8669 😆 I’ve got a radius 2 valve actually, lovely mixer, sounds great, a joy to play on and does some things brilliantly that lower quality rotaries struggle with (summing for example) I work for a company that designs and builds audio equipment. One of our head engineers was a consultant on a fairly (in)famous 100k + pair of audiophile speakers (I’m not going to name names here) he gave me the warts and all hard truth about super audiophile products and the long and short of it is it’s massively placebo and a great example of buyer confirmation and diminishing returns with your hard earned cash. What you are spunking your money on is slightly different flavas of sound, with pretty hard to define ‘improvements’! One thing I will say is the fact that we know the placebo effect is real, if it can literally heal the body it’s not that much of a stretch to see how it can make people believe they are hearing vast ‘improvements’ There’s a pretty fine line between getting the most out of a setup and being one of the poor fools who claim their 20k cables sound incredible (my Technics are also modified with the same upgrades you’ll find in big clubs like Fabric etc - ie sensible upgrades) You’ve clearly got the funds to afford it and I can see why so many people enjoy chasing chimeras but you’re being partly duped. I suggest you learn about building speakers and amps you’ll have a much better understanding about the physics of sound reproduction, what’s important and where it’s worth spending money. Also, I hope you’ve got adequate room treatment to go with those lovely speakers :)

@@s_9878 lolololol...there's one thing being told and then another in the know! My father is a patent attorney and has specialised in hifi for for 40 years! Also I have mate that has worked for mission and sennheiser and now does satellite communication and I have also got extensive knowledge in this hifi... Yes you do get different variations in sound with things, but if you're experienced you will know when something is getting accurate. The money I have spent is sensible and it's also very technical and obviously something you know very little about...like RF contamination, vibration isolation, soundstage, passive pre amps, difference classes of power, phasing, delay, detail, punch, septation, timing colouration etc etc... Yes people can go too far with hifi and yes it think it's over the top...but you also must believe in hi end audio, otherwise you wouldn't be buying a mastersounds mixer lol...behave lol... I've set up and owned and heard more hifi then you can poke a stick at and I earned my stripes and cut my teeth mainly setting up car hifi systems and hearing the difference with different set ups and methods....yes there is a lot of snake oil going on but there is also a lot of development money to get back when inventing something. You've been watching KZbin vids about room conditioning lol....it's acoustics mate and that's all down to sound which is variable in a room or setting...that can also be a bit snake oil....it's all about changing the sound and delay etc...hence it's preference and that's why most concert halls etc have panels in the roof which you can adjust... You contradicted your self in your retort after your short and rude and dismissive nonsense comment lol... I can see further than my nose and can see things from both sides and I make my own conclusions and don't listen to what others say without knowing my stuff and having conclusive evidence.

Why comment that if you aren't going to list your reasons? Worthless input otherwise.
