Una de las mejores canciones de Joni. En vivo en 1998.

My favorite Joni Mitchell song. So many brilliant images in the lyric, such piercingly beautiful music, nothing compares to it. She is the godlike artist and the trembling human all in the same moment.

Joni was, is and will be the best musician, songwriter, poet and 100% artist woman of all times. Still remeber after 40 years how I learned some guitar tricks from her (open tuning) in a time when a song wiht more than 4 chords was considered "difficult" by any guitar player. And how about her piano...She's always been 20 years ahead from her time and still is.. I'm so grateful to Joni for letting the world enjoy her deep, overhuman soul, such a sensitive person, a wisdom in music. She's simply the best: just LOVE her forever

Funny how so many people react to Bob Dylan getting a Nobel with the cry "whatabout Joni". I so agree. Gorgeous moment in this recording with Joni appealing to the audience for the lyrics of the next verse and them so eagerly and knowledgably helping out.

I'm going to be as polite as possible, Tom. Mighty strong assertion and opinion, my buddy. But strong opinions don't necessarily correlate to truth. I could come up with a contrary view but that would be just another thought to get lost in the ozone. Musical taste is a tricky battle ground on which to fight a war.

Wow! This is why there is only one Joni Mitchell! The music in the lyrics, the phrasing of Joni's delivery, the sumptuous texture of the instrumentation and Joni's incredible subtlety of tone and her lightness of touch, for me, make this an absolute masterpiece. This is a song that, in the nicest way, forces you to stop whatever you are doing, and just sit down and listen as the singer speaks to you. Simply phenomenal, trailblazing artistry. Thank you Joni! I have a Rolling Stone magazine of the top 100 guitar players. Joni is the only female mentioned. She is exceptional in her use of alternate tunings and chords before you even get to the song itself.

To Micheal John and Richard - 1st off screw Rolling Stone. They've always been misogynistic. That whole industry is so we still don't get to hear other women. Yeah Micheal, look at that video again & you'll see Metheny in total AWE. She's in front cause after all it is HER GIG. You guys seem so shocked this brilliant genius is female! Like it requires testosterone to play. Its amusing. Mitchell is the rare once in a lifetime phenomenon, to be cherished and guided by her prescient poetry & powerful musical confidence. Enjoy boys!

Went to this concert in my town, my 2nd of hers. By this time she was to me one of the Immortals so I was beyond thrilled just to be there. I was ready to forgive whatever time had taken away, as happens so often with artists whose heyday has passed. No need. Whatever had been lost was more than compensated for by something.... deep. Something remarkable. It represented to me a bullseye hit at a target she had never aimed at before. She was in some ways setting her sights higher, and she was succeeding, again.

I love her face and smile at this point. I think this might be her at her best. This is her in her mid-50's, and if you've listened to her interviews, you know she's spent a great deal of time battling illness. I get the impression this was a healthy time for her; she seems happy and content, not like she's longing for something.

I believe she had spoken about meeting her daughter the year prior, which I think was a very fulfilling moment in her life, and closed a lot of gaps in between those years, which made up her entire musical career up until that point. She would make music after this point, but this was the end of any sort of touring career, and I do think reconnecting with her only child (given up for adoption at birth) helped to close that era, even though I'm sure we would all always want more Joni music.

Impossible to pick a favourite of her songs, but this one is way up there for me. Maybe it's because I'm from a Saskatchewan small town, and I relate to musing about the childhood friends I left behind. And I love how the narrative of the song takes place in NYC, yet she manages to conjure the spectre of the Canadian Plains... ahh.. Joni.
