I’m Will’s niece! I had no idea this episode was on KZbin. My mom (the nurse) used to have it on tape and we would watch it when we were younger. My uncle is still going strong and has 16 kids now! We are all so very grateful and lucky to have him in our lives ❤

@@animemangafan1987 Hello, Wills nephew here. 1st, the location of the accident (keystone ranch), in Carmen, Idaho is about a 30 minute drive to the hospital. 50 minutes if the roads are covered in ice (which they were). It would have taken more time to wait for an ambulance, locate him, provide the same triage, and drive him to the local hospital. 2nd, his sister was a registered nurse (which are more educated than your typical EMS worker), so she followed the same procedure as any of them would have, if not better. 3rd the fact that he walks and has 16 children shows that my families efforts saved him, in fact he was luckier and healthier than most who experience an injury like this. The last word you chose was perfect, “God,” that’s who intervened. My family and God. If you knew the back stories they chose to leave out of the episode, maybe you wouldn’t have chosen to leave such an arrogant and misinformed reply to my cousins comment.

Back when I graduated HS in '83, we had a classmate who had been in a horrific motorbike accident. He was paralysed from the waist down and was never expected to walk again. Through hard work and determination, he made it and walked up the ramp to the podium to receive his diploma. The entire crowd, graduates, friends and family, gave him a standing ovation. We dedicated the yearbook to him because of his inspiration.

hello, Wills nephew here. I’m appalled at some of the comments y’all are choosing to leave, so let me debunk a few things the show didn’t make clear. 1st, the location of the accident (keystone ranch), in Carmen, ID is about a 30 minute drive to the hospital. 50 minutes if the roads are covered in ice (which they were). In fact, the hospital in Salmon Idaho is so small, they had to airlift him to a hospital in a more populated area. 6th, they had to choose a less steep hill for the reenactment because the actors couldn’t repeat what my family did, even on the less steep hill, they had to take several breaks. It’s been 34 years since this happened so Will is 50 now. When I saw Will fall from the tree, I was terrified because I didn’t know what kind of injuries he had. If he had been alone that day, he would’ve been paralyzed or killed. I’m sure he can never say “Thank you” to those who helped him. This happened on Thanksgiving day. I never knew how dangerous tree climbing can be until now.

As my cousin said, I didn’t know this was on KZbin now! I keep in contact with Uncle Will and visit him whenever I’m driving through. I know one of his fears when the accident first happened was that he wouldn’t have kids, happy to report that he is now on a happy number 16. I will always have a special place in my heart for him, not only because of what he went through, but what he has done for me. During one of my visits to his house, I met his 2yr old yellow lab Dakota, she wasn’t quite fitting in with the family and I happen to be looking for a service dog. He offered to let me adopt her, she was trained, and now we have been together for seven years. She bears all of uncle Will‘s gentleness and understanding, and is a constant reminder of how strong my uncle is, I will always feel a special connection to him, and I’m grateful for the lessons he continues to teach our family. ❤❤❤

Hi, Matt Koppelman here, Will's friend. I agree with you. He should not have been moved. However, this ranch is far from town to begin with Aunt. We were foolishly looking for trees on the edge of the property which takes a while just to get to the house before you can even get back on the road. If we didn't transport him he would have died from hypothermia. Things were not looking good. I had some choices to make and I did the best I could as a teenager.
