This was one of my favorite episodes. If you listen in the beginning, the officer who cried had also experienced the loss of another little girl previously kidnapped. I once lost my 5 yr old son at a popular large flea market. I immediately notified staff. The 30 minutes we searched for him were definitely frightening. He was eventually found when he went up to a security guard to ask for help. He later told me he went between the rows searching for our vehicle. I for one felt blessed to have gotten him back. His father and I held their hands & never let our children out of our sight after that.

This was my favorite episode, the bad guy got what he deserved (hopefully more to come in prison by some big burly men) but seeing the emotion of the sheriff that was 2nd on the scene was what really got to me. Hats off to the little boy for paying attention to so many details! Without God and that little boy, who knows what could have happened.
@janiedoe1542
@janiedoe1542 11 жыл бұрын
Megan Hunkovic , I would have to agree with you, because I could just feel the emotion that Sheriff was going through, and also I'm Extremely proud of that little boy, because he stood back and saw what was happening, he ran back to get help, because God forbid what could've happen to that Little Girl, she could've been another kidnapped victim, she could've been another rape victim, or even worse, Oh I wish that there were more smart children like that Little Boy that would react as quickly as he did, also who in their right minds would let two children walk over to a neighbor's house by themselves?, I think that Parents should Role-Play with their children about Stranger Danger, so that if something like this should happen, then they'll know what to do, and also I think that Parents should sit down with their children and explain to them what Strangers are, so that it won't be scary to him or her, and they should know all the tricks and the lures, also they should know that a stranger doesn't ask for help, like finding a lost dog, doesn't want their pictures taken without their parents consent, and they should never, EVVER take nothing from them, like a toy, a candy bar, a DVD, a puppy, or a kitten, or as THE ROCK would say, "It Doesn't Matter" about anything else, also children should know to use the words, "FIRE!!!", or "POLICE!!!", or even "THAT'S NOT MY MOM OR DAD!!" really loud so that other people can hear them, and not use the word "Help", because then people wouldn't know what kind of help you need. and also we should have more Child Safety Laws, and have Educated Parents and Kids too, and have a prison only for Pedophiles, thumbs up if you agree with my point.

I watched this on another channel earlier today. This happening before the Amber alert system, it was the quick reaction of the Josh running all the way to Stacey's house, that saved Stacy's life. Then Stacey's mom and grandma getting neighbors to help, and the immediate response of the police. Josh sure was observant in his description of the kidnapper and car, right down to the dirty nails. Glad this had a happy ending!

@@kathymoriarty1441, I agree.... Of the high profile cases that happened in 1996, Amber Hagerman and JonBenet Ramsey’s cases I think about a lot.... I was 17 when Amber was abducted and murdered in January 1996, 18 when JonBenet was murdered in her own home... Someone saw what happened to Amber and are either too afraid to come forward or protecting the perpetrator because they’re family or friends.... Amber was riding her bike, he grabbed her off her bike, there had to be DNA, Finger Prints on her bike and body when he grabbed her.... But someone definitely knows and needs to speak up....

(they keep everything legal) in my oppinion if we had MORE PEOPLE in real life willing to do this then maybe JUST MAYBE little girls and boys would no go missing etc!! God now i wanna go and do it LOL. p.s just type in phoenix jones in the youtube search and you can watch their vids and see for yourself :)

I don't think all police are corrupt and not caring. I have a good friend who was a city cop only a few years ago. There was a case in which a 2 month old baby had been beaten and tortured to death by his parents. He told me that when he got home from the court case and had the parents locked away, he broke down and cried to his wife. I asked him about police corruption and he said, "You know, there are a lot of dumbasses in the department, I'll tell you what." Yes, there is police corruption in the U.S. but there's corruption everywhere every day. I'd bet all of the money I have in saying there was corruption going on the day the wild goose chase in the video featured somewhere in the U.S. But to say every officer doesn't care is flat out wrong. I say that with utmost respect, but there are far too many people who just go off of what other people tell them and don't bother checking the facts.

vinnie couture There are certainly corrupt cops out there who only care about the "prestige" from the job title, but, as we both know, there are good cops who actually care about what they do and the impact it has on their community. As for the caring part, we have to bear in mind police cannot show emotion on the job, as it's against their policy. However, there are moments, like this, where a cop breaks that policy for a few moments and we can see the human being in that role :)

I NEVER let my kids out of my sight when they were little. They are 37 and 2 34 year olds now. Once when they were playing on the swing set in the front yard my husband was working in the open garage where he could easily see them. He looked up and a couple in a car was parked on the road. They were pointing at the kids. He heard the man say that he'd rather have the younger boy... My husband grabbed a bat and went flying out of the shop. They got away... He got the plate and police were called. We were terrified.

Sometimes when I’m frustrated, angry, or upset at my parents about something, I tell them that if I was kidnapped they wouldn’t miss me and they would sell everything in my bedroom for a fortune. They’d be happy once I’m gone and be glad to have me out of the way. They wouldn’t have me to compromise about some things. But I’m wrong. My mother told me she would shrine my room and they would miss me if I was kidnapped and gone. But I don’t mean to say those things. If I was kidnapped, everyone would come to get me and want me back.

My God, Every time I see This On Here, I see Red Flags Everywhere, First Children Should Never, Ever Go Off to a Neighbor's House, Children Should Always Walk With A bunch Of Other Children, Because There's Safety In Numbers, Children Should Never, Ever Go Near a Stranger's Car, Even If a Stranger Says To Them, Like, "Your Mom or Dad was In a Bad Accident, I've been sent to take you to the hospital", Or "I'm Lost could you tell me where the main road is", etc. etc. Children Should Learn To Yell NO, and Run and Tell a Trusted Adult or a Police Officer.

The way the cop was crying shows he felt like it was his own child missing. And they care about children and civilians like it their own family and people hate cops so bad it pisses me off!! I'm glad he got life in prison

This illustrates why the first few hours are the most critical in searching for a kidnap victim. Prior to the '80s police would say wait for 24 hours. AMW Host John Walsh's son Adam was kidnapped and murdered back in 1981.

I remember vividly that my cousin (I'd rather not say which one) was fondled by her foster caretaker and when her second daughter, who was middle child, was sent into foster care, she was afraid that the same thing that happened to her might happen to her daughter. But they weren't. I met those guys and her older foster brother was in high school at the time and he was skilled in martial arts and swords. So I believe if any guy tried to do what happened to Stacey to her, he would've beat them up so badly that they'd be in the hospital for weeks, maybe a few months perhaps.
