I’ve been in hound rescue in Oklahoma for almost 25 years and I’ve seen the best and worst in people. I’ve seen broken spirits and broken hearts and it’s broken me more than once. Roman is where God put him … at the best possible retirement home a horse could ask for. I don’t know if his spirit will ever fully heal, but I really pray Rita can share her confidence and childlessness with him.

I think you’re doing the right thing, Lester. I think it would be good for Roman to have a younger horse with him. We had an older mare with arthritis in with my boys and my younger horse kept her moving and on the go, which was good for her arthritis and kept her young ❤

Dec. 13. 2024. Yes Roman has a past, just like everyone does, but his past dose not defined who he is now, it the present and the past that counts. Barbara and her husband rescued him from the Amish. We understand Roman's story and bad experiences while with the Amish, so hopefully, they understand we know they did their best ❤ and Barbara did her best by surrendering him to y'all 😊 God Bless & prayers for peace

I hope that it works out with Rita and Roman. My heart breaks for Roman when I see him, knowing how abused he had been. Roman hit the jackpot when he came to you. Lester you are so gentle and loving with him and that’s just what he needs now. It’s going to take a lot of time and patience to get him to trust you like the others do. I think you are starting to get through to him and I have noticed a slight change in him from when he first got there.

I too hope it works miraculously for Roman and Rita. That looks like great bedding. Spring time, scoop it all up and compost it for a year for Jami's garden, it should help keep weeds down too. Put all coffee grounds, egg shells, grass clippings, old hay, old straw and allow it to completely compost down. Recycle cardboard without alot of stamped writing and remove all tape. Just fluff it up once a week.

Thier Boston terrier Ollie's love was lost from them to me because I was his favorite human. He was my Maggie for sure. I miss him so much. It was so funny when they came to pick him up after spending the night weekend or week with me he would crouch down beside me not wanting to leave. 🥺❤️🥺❤️ Never had an animal love me that much. It's like Roman came from a very different environment that most horses don't. But he will finally have horses, animals, and people to really enjoy and see what life is all about. Lester, it may be a little hard to believe, but I totally understand what Roman is going through mentally, because I've been there. My parents mentally & emotionally abused me from about my pre- teens onward. Every time I would try to stand up for myself, I would get 1 of them about 3" from my face. It isn't something that is easy to overcome. To this day, I'm still working on it. And there is more to this story, if you're ever interested. But, I do have a bright spot in my life now, and that's my boyfriend Rick. He has been through some rough times growing up too. I'm not going to talk about that, because, as you have taught us, it is his story to tell. I hope that with some time, a lot of love 💘 and patience, Roman will overcome some of that mental trauma. And adding Rita will definitely help him overcome that - eventually. Wonderful video with Rita and the Wacky Little's 😊❤ Take care and I'll catch you on the next video 😉!

Rita loves her daddy time. You need several bags of treats to feed all the animals and dogs included. My favorite animals at JL South is Ringo, Leonard, Ernie, Trixie, Ritzy, and Hank. At Jl North it's Roman, Serenity, Willie Joe, and Sadie. Of course I love them all ❤.

Those wood pellets are the ones I use for my ferrets in their potty box. And yes for the people that don't know those pellets expand when damp and break up and turn to like a wood dust is the way I can explain it. Very biodegradable for sure ❤

I used those bedding pellets in my duck pen. Just poured it in and as they do what ducks do with their waterer and poo there was no need to wet it down. I loved it for them and so much easier to clean for me.

I use the pellets ( either the bedding or pine pellets) as cat litter put it in dry and as they use it , and they go on it , the pellets absorb it and swell up and turns into sawdust type and just scoop that out ...pretty neat

@@LisaB-11 we used to pay about $4 a bag. It's now about $6 I think. The husband buys it now so I haven't kept up on the price. But we all know that cat litter is way overpriced and most aren't good for the environment. This stuff is sawdust and fine for the environment.
