They're growing so fast! Couple of things : It's normal for kittens to get the "meat shakes" when they first start eating food. Also, the type of litter you got is safe for them to eat. Kittens are curious and often try to eat their litter in the beginning. The sand kind you got before isn't the best for kittens because it can make them sick if ingested.

Clay litter is also not great in general because it can cause respiratory problems and corn little can cause a really bad infection

I've read that before- clumping litter can build up in their stomach and cause upsets. My family used Yesterdays News litter for our kittens and they also liked to chew on it. The little paper bits got stuck to blankets and all over the floor, though.

Don’t worry about the shivering, kittens this age are still figuring out how to be a cat, so I imagine it’s a mixture of excitement cause they loved the food and because they don’t know how to work they’re land legs yet lol. Mine did this as well when I started feeding her wet food but now she eats it slowly and without the excited tail shakes lol

I have found that gently pressing their bums a couple of times into the litter helps get them started. This was probably the best choice of litter. I've heard that clumping sand litter can be lethal for kittens because they often eat it, and then it forms an obstruction in their abdomen. These kitten (and puppy and vlogging) videos are so heartwarming! With all the bad stuff in the news, it's much better for the soul to come to this channel instead and watch this kind of content. The kittens trembling when eating new food for the first time is perfectly normal. As I understand it, the trembling happens when their bodies are struggling to process all these new sensations and tastes. Plus, I'd like to think it means they're really excited :D

The one spazing out in the litter box was NOT pearl. You can tell the difference easy by the nose. Pearl has a slightly off center gray spot spilling over and opals is perfectly aligned.....

When you put the kittens in the litter box take their front paw and scratch at the litter. It will show them and their natural instincts will kick in. Thank you for doing this and saving all these babies and mamas. Love you

hi joey! You might want to continue to add new things into their area, like different textured surfaces, like aluminum foil or a stretch mat, and maybe some physical challenges like elevations or teetering activities. It can really help not only stimulate their minds but make them more confident!

I know that it's probably going to be difficult getting back in a car again , but I just KNOW that you can do this !!!!! Having a car accident is soooo scary and I don't know if I could do it myself . I've never been in a horrible automobile accident so I really don't know what you are going through right now . All that I know is that if I were in your shoes , I would try to do everything possible to get well - such as doing EVERYTHING that my doctor says to do , eating the best foods that will help me to heal my body completely yet doing this in a manner that my doctor approves of . We got my cat that same kind of liter and it didn’t turn out well. She had eaten some when we weren’t with her. She got really sick and she was in a lot of pain. The vet bill was over $3,000 to make sure she was okay, flush it out of her system, and make her feel 100% again. I would suggest something like Pretty Litter instead. I would hate to see those poor kitties get sick 🥺❤️

A tip: You can try to put a layer of non-clump clay litter on top of the pellets so that it feels like something they should poop in. Set each kitten on the litter and take each front paw and scratch at the surface so they feel what it is like to scratch at the litter and hopefully go. Pellets don't feel like the dirt or sand that they instinctually want to poop in.

Do they drink water from a bowl yet? They will get the hang of the litterbox very soon. A tip is to put some poop or pee from them in there, they will understand it's the toilet then. You're doing an amazing job!!! 🤗

My kittens didn't like the pellets and ended up pooping under the sofa. We switched to "no clump" clay or sand. It's important to use "no clump" because sometimes Kittens can instinctively try to eat the litter. The clumping litter, if eaten can cause serious illness to the kittens.

Kittens shaking when eating wet food for the first time is totally normal! It's the meat trembles! There's no explanation why it happens but it's just their normal reaction to having solid meat for the first time. Kitten Lady has a whole video about it called Why Do Kittens TREMBLE? Is it normal?!

Joey, usually when kittens shake/vibrate/tremble it means they either have low or high body temperatures, an illness, or low blood sugar. Another reasons is that they might just be nervous. Anyways love ya Joey. And tell the kitties we love em too. 🧡

If I were you I would’ve introduced them to the litter box right away or Atleast have it in their cage, when I got my kitten she knew how without any training just put it out for them and they’ll do their thing, it’s on instinct.

These kittens are the cutest! I remember both my cats when they were kittens, they had trouble transitioning to cat food. I had to water down the can foods, and spoon feed them. Also the older brother always ate his younger brother food, that is also why I spoon feed them. And for the litter, I used the sand it was a clumsy type of sand, and what work for me, I put a small amount at a time . I even put in the box to show them that’s where you go, and I used to with the scooper, dig at the litter or I used their paw and helped them dig. And when they mastered the litter I changed to that paper beaded litter. And when they got to age of 18 years old, I used to find younger cat sleeping in the litter. He was weirdo lol😊

Use clay litter, non clumping. It's safe for kittens to eat. Also, put some poop of theirs in the litter box, they go where they smell. Move food away from litter. They don't shit where they eat. Also I start babies on Gerber's chicken baby food mixed with baby rice cereal, we call it kitten crack. Vibrating while eating is normal. Sensory overload realizing they are carnivores 😁

They just love the "stinky" food. Used to gag me. I would put on a glove and put some on my fingers to introduce them to wet good - dry heaving the whole time - LOL. Good advice to scrape their little paws in the litter - after 2 days you will be amazed. They learn from each other. Love them all!!

I use a similar pellet litter except it comes with a bottom section for a pee pad so the pee collects separately from the poop on top! It helps reduce smells too, which is super nice. It’s mainly made for 1 cat per system but I figured I might as well suggest it regardless in case you’re curious🥰 It’s called Purina Tidy Cats Breeze Litter Box System I got my kitty at 3 months old and she had no issues using the system, I have no idea what the foster used for litter box prior but she uses it everyday and she’s 2 now 💜

They're not shaking because of the food per se like an allergy, they probably are just excited about the food and balancing on their tails and body similar to puppies so they learn not to fall forward towards the bowl. I heard there was a earthquake there of five point one but you would have felt that one. But generally they just seem to learn how to balance and eat at the same time.

The shakes are normal when eating, they are getting used to and enjoying meat!!! Also food should not be near the litter. Basically you font want to eat where you poop! Same reason you don't eat in the bathroom. When they are ready, they will use the box, all in their own time. Mum will teach them what todo, its hard, but let her do her job!!! 😻

I think you might have to try and start with a more sand-like litter first. I think instinctually they know when they feel that texture, and then when they are more familiar with using the box, you can transition into the pellets.

I feel like if someone had time they could offer non clumping litter supervised throughout the day. Then leave a safe litter when you can't supervise. It would definitely could be helpful if you had kittens that weren't "getting" the litter box. The cats need stimulations, like sounds. You can take a ipad, with sounds of nature, like birds sounds and that. Its good for the mom cat and the kittens. They need that. And a scratching post

Move their little paws while in the litter box as a digging motion and most of the time they get it right away that it’s what you want them to do and catch on and do it theirselves.. I’ve fostered kittens 3 times so far 3 different litters all 3 kittens.. it’s weird because the first two litters were easily potty trained and this last set of 3 only one is potty trained and the 2 others just go in corners and on puppy pads I have laid out

I feed my cat Pate every other day and he loves it. Mainly the seafood, shrimp, whitefish and makeral are his faves. It is good to give it to them but it's best to give them different things each time you feed them so they can have variety. Their energy after eating it 😍😍I love it.

Hi, for each feed, given the number of them. It would be 2 tins per feed, three times a day. That’s a minimum, I’d add an extra tin per feed. Also, split the feed on separate plates. Love ya.

I believe that a kitten/cat will shake and stand their tail up if they are excited or super happy. I follow Chloe The Serval and she does that when she's super happy. BTW... that was super cute and Joey, I just adore your reaction. You crack me up sir! Thank you.
