From what I understand.. The Chinese. Raise donkeys for meat.. The donkeys are put out. In the forest... To find what they can eat.. The farmers round up these donkeys once a year.. Sell about two thirds of them for meat... The last third is kept for breeding stock.. If they are going to the meat market who cares what their feet look like? To me it sounds like.. The farmers in the USA used to do the same thing.. Back before the Civil War.
