Years ago I did mare watch on two mares for some friends. Slept at the barn outside their stalls, got up every dang hour and looked at them and they looked back...like "what the heck are you doing?" Both mares (about 2 weeks apart), gave me the look one hour, then the next hour she And her foal were looking back at me! Frustrating and wonderful at the same time.

I have had the exact same experience. It is their instinct to hold the foal in, if possible, as long as someone’s watching. A good instinct in the wild but very frustrating for foal watchers!

Agree.I dont know teenage Clydesdales, but recall both my sons got really grumpy and tired when experiencing their growth spurts - turning them from boys to men. Maybe it's the same for boy horses? Oliver may just need that trim. He could be forging because of long toes. He didn’t look neurologic at all going up that ramp. Also, if he’s growing, he’s learning to use that big ole body all over again

You and Oliver have ruined my relationship with my grand daughter. They just got over here for Easter and the first words out of her mouth were NOT " How are you doing Grandpa? " or Where's Grandma???" Nope. The first words out of her mouth after coming through the door were "How is Oliver????" I'm going to need weeks of therapy. LOL!!! Glad to see the big guy doing better. I’m trying to picture what would’ve happened to Oliver if you had not purchased him one month ago. At the rate he was declining, he could well have been dead by now. I can’t believe how quickly he’s turned around with medical treatment, good, groceries, and good treatment. You guys rock!

Love how Oliver has improved and gained weight. Great You Tube channel. I was raised you take care of any animals you care for. Never mistreat or neglect. My Mom lived near Dr W. K. Kellogg and worked for them in Augusta Michigan and they gave her a Grandson of the Movie dog, Rin Tin Tin, in the 1930s. He swam with her every morning in the summers. Her father was a Landscape Architect for the Kellogg family during the Great Depression.

I'd update vet about weight to confirm dose is still correct. Nice to see gains, they will tell you if he needs to slow. Foalert among others make a great monitor so you can sleep. Good luck and happy Easter.

He has a fantastic Clyde head. Nice blaze. Long head to nose shape. A good trait The national Clyde sale. Is a great place to meet people you can network with people for the good of Oliver. You will see the best Clydesdales in the world they come from all over to go to that show ,to show and to sell the sale. I think you know the second day or used to be I’ve been there several times. I have good memories. There’s a lot of other entertainment that goes on in the evenings when everybody gets together and tell their tall tales and the memories that come from those evenings are the best .when you register you should get a brochure ahead of time or you can contact them and ask for one.
