Yok Don is an open and dry forest, where local people are allowed to enter the Park and work on the land, and wild elephants usually come and "visit" the farms and can and do cause damage. If the locals see an elephant without a 'necklace' in their farm, they will inform the local government, if the elephant has a 'necklace', they will find the elephant's mahout and ask for compensation for any damaged areas.

Ownership of elephants needs to be banned all over the world. They're beautiful, peaceful creatures that have to be free in parks or sanctuaries because we have taken their safe space 😢
@deborahwright52095 ай бұрын
Couldn't agree more. Yes, you are right, we have taken their space and used and abused them for centuries. There should be no more captive elephants and the ones that are should be freed to live in ethical sanctuaries such as this one. This place, Wildlife SOS and Elephant Nature Park all do an amazing job 👏 ❤❤❤
